BIRDS OF PREY and THE SUICIDE SQUAD are in my opinion the two best, funnest, most satisfying and entertaining DC movies of the modern age(aside from The LEGO Batman Movie and The Dark Knight, which are really their own thing). They're both extremely funny and are filled with excellent performances. (Also, Birds Of Prey leads into The Suicide Squad, so watching it first is advisable if you like Margot Robbie's story of Harley Quinn.)

A lot of these films are underwhelming. I’d personally recommend the first Shazam and the first Aquaman.

I just double checked Addie's Letterboxd and it looks like she just watched Aquaman. So my guess is she's watching that, Shazam!, and The Suicide Squad in release order since those three are by far the clear winners on the poll. 🙂

Hey, Addie! I recommend watching the remainder of the DCEU catalog as it is not as big an investment as the MCU! The movies did poorly largely because Snyder's plans were scrapped by the studio and an executive decision to wipe the slate clean for James Gunn rendered the Snyderverse a dead reality with no future. The films are actually quite good and highly entertaining with a few exceptions. Next is: -- Aquaman (incredible) -- Shazam (a total blast) -- Birds of Prey (the weakest but a guilty pleasure delight about a group of kick-ass ladies including Robbie's Harley) -- Black Adam (excellent with lots of future potential) -- Shazam: Fury of the Gods (weaker than the first but still entertaining) -- The Flash (excellent with Michael Keaton as Batman!) -- Blue Beetle (surprisingly good) -- Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (a respectable final bow) You could skip "Wonder Woman 1984". It is abysmal. "The Suicide Squad" has many die-hard fans but I think it's inferior to Ayers' Squad. If you fancy James Gunn's sensibility, give it a shot but know that it exists in its own universe belonging neither to Gunn's DCEU or Snyder's. "Superman Returns" from 2006 is also definitely worth a look. It is a direct sequel to "Superman II" with Christopher Reeve. It is NOT a part of the DCEU. It pretends that "Superman III" and "Superman IV" never occurred. Brandon Routh is Supes, Kate Bosworth is Lois, Kevin Spacey is Lex, Frank Langella is Perry White and James Marsden is in it!

The Suicide Squad is great. It’s a proper movie. You’ve definitely already watched worse DC movies than Birds of Prey. I’d put Shazam at a similar level to Wonder Woman. The rest of these are for completists.

Those are Vertigo/Wildstorm books not Dark Horse. Dark Horse is a completely seperate company that does Hellboy (among others). Another great Vertigo book/movie is The Road to Perdition. It definitely needs to be discovered by the reactor community. Tom Hanks, a gangster? Addie definitely should do Hellboy 1&2.

"The Suicide Squad" (2021) takes place after the events of "Birds of Prey" (2020). Harley's change of circumstances may be confusing without knowing what happened.

Sadly, in my opinion these are all bad and do not deserve a vote, with the possible exception of Aquaman. The BETTER DC movies are the animated ones, because of their writing quality. An example would be Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

This is a difficult poll because all these are meh films. If this is wats left for u to watch, i'd stop after the poll winner . Pennyworth, which focuses on a young Alfred, and The Penguin are worth ur time. Both are series. I'm a big Superman fan , but not looking forward to the new Superman.

Frankly, I feel if someone is coming to a movie franchise well after its theatrical releases, it's best to watch them in an order that best serves the overall story regardless of release order. I can't comment on this franchise, but I know many people think a lot of these later entries suck in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

The Suicide Squad is my top pick on this for sure! 😄 Second pick is Shazam! which is also fun. Third would be Birds of Prey, also decent, although I like the other two a bit better. And if you look at TV shows down the line, there are some excellent DC shows on Max worth watching (specifically Peacemaker, Creature Commandos, Harley Quinn, Watchmen, The Penguin). Honestly, DC really nailed some of the TV shows on Max, they're great! 👍

I personally don't care about any of them, but I feel "Shazam!" has the best reputation of all of them. "Aquaman" and "THE Suicide Squad" might also get views. "Birds of Prey" and "The Flash" are iffy (the latter only because of the appearance of one particular character)... but the rest likely won't generate much interest.
