While I'm not as high on "Ed Wood" as most people seem to be (I consider it mid-range Burton), I'd still watch Addie's reaction to it; it's certainly better than this movie.

Such a fun movie. It came out the same year as Independence Day and there are so many jokes making fun of cliches that Independence Day does completely seriously. I’m pretty sure Pam Grier is living in the Royal Tenenbaums’ house. That’s another ensemble comedy with an insanely stacked cast that if you haven’t seen definitely deserves a reaction.

The yodeling singer whose Indian Love Call exploded the attackers was Slim Whitman. In the 1970s and '80s, commercials for his greatest hits record album ran on every all-night TV movie show, over and over. Most of us had never heard of him before the incessant ads.

On a tangent I think my favorite bit of Short's is all the times he roasted Conan O'Brien on his talk show. Martin Short must be awesome at tennis after practicing all those backhanded compliments on Conan! 😄

Christina Applegate was in a little more of the movie than I think you noticed. She was Jack Black's girlfriend in some of the earlier scenes. She obviously was able to get over his death fairly easily. lol

I love how the aliens are CLEARLY evil from the outset but the humans keep saying "maybe it's a misunderstanding". (That and their language just being AAA AA AAA AAAA.) 😄
