Both are similar in capabilities but which will prevail? In this film, Chris Copson compares the armour protection, firepower and mobility of the two designs, and we recount the events of a specific engagement fought at Mouen near Caen on 28th June, 1944.

Another excellent and informative video from the Tank Museum, thankk you to Chris and the media team. An interesting point about the M3 75mm gun was its rate of fire: considered to be the quickest firing tank gun in 1944 (from James Holland's book Brothers in Arms about the Sherwood Rangers). This led to a mantra of "fire first and fire fast"
