In World War II this led to huge losses in paratroops on Crete and at Arnhem. Since then, many attempts have been made to level the playing field, to give airborne soldiers a fighting chance. This video explores how using first gliders, then helicopters and heavy lift aircraft, attempts made to develop and deliver airportable armour.

Thanks Chris, another excellent presentation the fate of airlifted armour never seems have been good! I would like to have seen (or see in future, hint hint) some content on the Soviet BMD-1 and ASU-57.
