UPDATE: Save the date for our next First Friday Zoom Mixer on April 4th, 2025, at 1pm Eastern Time.
Aloha, friends!
On Friday, March 7, 2025 we will reach Day 7 of this year’s 100 Days of Ukulele project, which started on March 1st. Whether you’re participating in this year's project by posting and/or commenting -- or just curious about it -- I invite you to join me this Friday for a First Friday Mixer on Zoom!
In this live event, you can meet other project participants, chat together in small breakout rooms, and share with each other about your projects. We'll give prompts for starting the conversation, and we'll switch rooms a few times so we can all get to know different folks. Because this is a long project, it helps to trade stories with folks who know what you're going through. :) Let's discuss how the first week has gone, and how we'll approach the rest!
First Friday Mixer (Live on Zoom)
Friday March 7th, 1 pm Hawaii Time | 3pm PT | 6pm ET | 11pm GMT (Sat am for Asia/Australia) check time converter.
Zoom link: link removed, as event has passed.
Please comment if you're planning to join, and mention the time for your time zone to help out other folks.
Since this is a live interactive event, we won't be able to record it. If you cannot attend today, know that Jenny (project manager) and I will hold more in the months to come, at some different times.
Also: if you're still thinking about joining the project, it's not too late to jump in. :)
First Week Check-in
Congratulations to all who’ve been a part of the project, however you've been participating. There are no “rules” to this challenge, and it’s been great to see how players have adapted it to their own interests and skill levels. This year we have active participants on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, and Patrons can also comment with their links here on Patreon, via a post I created for that purpose.
If you're willing to share, I'd love to hear how you are doing just a few days in. What questions do you have? What have you learned so far? What do you need to do to make the project sustainable? What has been your favorite day so far? What do you want to ask other participants?
Those who can't attend the live event can still share via the comments here, and hopefully connect and learn from each other this way. Your feedback will help shape the project and project events going forward.
A special thanks to our admins, mods, group experts, cheerleaders, and everyone who is supporting the project! See you on the journey!
xo cynthia.

Hi, Jan. Your videos on FB are right side up for me. There is no IG page, just a hashtag to use on Instagram.
Jan Tait
I’m getting frustrated with my videos posting upside down for the 100 day challenge on FB I Didn’t have a problem with this at first but the last 2 posts are like this. I need some help figuring how to post on IG so the video goes to the #100DayUke2025 page only.

Hi, Bill, I'm not sure what help you need. If it's with the logistics of just starting a Patreon account, you should go straight to the Patreon help desk. https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/203913709-Joining-a-creator-s-Patreon-as-a-paid-member Hope this helps!

Sorry to have missed the mixer on Friday. I started on day 2, having first heard about the community challenge then. I’m still not sure what I want to focus on: I seem to be going down the song a day route so far. This results in a lack of polish but the knowledge of that limitation has been giving me the confidence to press on - there will inevitably be mistakes, the main thing is to develop a consistent habit. I guess I answered my own question.
Bill

Visiting family on another island so may not be able to join but I am looking for an inexpensive use that I cab just practice my cords and fingering on. My main uke is a kamaka that I had fixed ( by the kamaka store) so I don’t want to be subjecting that to being in the car or where ever…I am looking at the flight ultra. Your opinions or suggestions please

I regret that I will have to miss the live, I was so looking forward to it, but being 1st Fri, I have church events that I am participating in. So far I have posted only 2 video's, 1st one only 22 secs long, the riffs fm Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, and the 2nd is the song, but I did it in spanish, sent it to family members and a couple of friends and they loved it. My goal, and I have been working on this this wk, finger exercises and scales. I'm so glad to doing the 100 days this yr, and look forward to better strumming and singing. Thank you
