I'll put it this way, Sorcery is probably my last TCG regardless of how it does in the future. My playgroup loves it and so do I. Been to 4 events/tourneys and the gameplay is top notch. Alpha/Beta is well polished and that is saying something for being a first set of a TCG game imo. A lot of experience, playtesting, etc went into it all and you can tell when you give it a few go's.

Smaller set...fewer packs per box...lower cost for the box, but not per pack $5 vs. 4.16 per pack. Still have to pay the same to ship probably...and upgraded box. Looks like the box almost has the foil effect where the words are raised and have a metallic color.

I don’t think EC explained why they switched to 24 packs per box. Only thing I can come up with is since they are focusing on the drafting this set, 24 packs is what you need for an 8 person draft. There are reprinted Beta boxes that should have already arrived at LGS in the US. EU is having to wait a little longer on those I believe.

I think my kids are too young for sorcery. 6 and 8. I pay lorcana with them and my wife. Magic with my wife and friends. Play fab in my LGS. I’d play one piece but I don’t like the people that play that at my LGS. Past Magic people who I didn’t enjoy playing with previously.

I played a couple of games with my dad.. As Rudy said, it brings a board game feel to a CCG & the art is incredible. Feels far more strategic than even MTG. Magic will always have a special place with me, but I can honestly say Sorcery-contested-realm is the best tcg I've ever played and I've tried them all barring one piece..

I recall opening the alpha starter decks and trying it with friends, I remember that the lack of explanations or clarifications on some rules made our experience not that fun, but we could see potential with better guidance towards new players. Yeah. I bought the first kit and just loved the cards but haven’t played. Still on the fence because I like the art but I’m not as passionate about the game as others are. I hate buying a product if at the end of the day, the product goes to zero, will I enjoy cracking the packs and just enjoying the cards. I can’t say yes yet. But the first kit was so fun to open with my wife. It’s hard to say no to a new batch of artwork. How’s the art on the new set Rudy?

on every release the internet thinks everything is overpriced and a ripoff, no matter the price. The final decision will be determined when the market settles and we can look back at the price of the Booster boxes. If the price holds or drifts higher, the Promo kits will look like a "great buy!" if the box prices tank, then people will think its bad. Who knows what will happen.
