Just a little update for October
🕑 Added 2016-10-11 21:14:38 +0000 UTC Well, it's that time again for a little update on what has been going on. Even though I haven't posted that many new episodes lately, it isn't for lack of working on them. I have been working on 4 different episodes simultaneously for the last 3 weeks. The two episodes about the BMW i3 didn't require any use of my studio room, since it was all filmed outside. So I've been working on other projects in the studio at the same time. So those two videos really didn't take away from my other projects.I noticed quite a few negative comments on the car videos, saying I should put them on a different channel. I thought about that, but I knew they wouldn't get much exposure if I did that. And since this will be the last of any car videos for the foreseeable future, I didn't see any point in starting another channel just for that.I know in past Patreon posts I've said that I had this or that video coming up soon, and then the video never materializes. Many things can go wrong that will force me to put something on the back burner. So maybe it isn't a good idea to tell you what I'm planning, since apparently I'm not very good about doing things in the order I said. However, I can tell you with certainty what the next two episodes are about because one of them is about 80% completed and the other is about 50% completed.
The very next episode that you'll see in a few days will show some interesting experiments I've done with VHS tapes. And the one after that will concentrate on audio cassettes and will also feature several minutes of Techmoan. I'm excited about having him in my production, since he's one of my favorite youtubers.I also have several old computers that I've accumulated the last few months that are in desperate need of some restoration work and retrobrite. Those episodes are usually quick and can be done over a single weekend. So when the weather is good I'll probably try to fit a few of those in over the next few months. On 8-Bit Keys... I've had a lot of donations lately and I'm virtually swimming in equipment that is sitting around waiting for me to feature. One thing I'll probably bump to the front is a Roland MT-32. Also, I'm going to be in Portland on October 21 - 23 at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo where I'm a VIP guest and speaker. If any of you are going to be there, be sure to come by and say hello.

If the battery is run completely down, it appears 70 to 75 is about the top speed it can sustain, and that's on flat ground. It can go faster for short bursts as it still has a battery buffer.

I love the car videos, but I'm also a subscriber to Cnet's roadshow channel, so that would explain that. I might have missed it, but you never did mention how fast the i3 can drive once you run the battery down all the way and use it like a gas-only car.

I get that.. but at the same time I thought about my own experiences. I'm only subscribed to about 5 other youtube channels. I don't really watch that many. But when I see that one of my favorite youtubers posts a video about something I'm not interested in....... drum roll.... I just don't watch it. And that happens fairly often. Never once have I felt the need to go watch the video just so I could gripe about them making something I didn't like. So anyway, that's why I haven't really been able to understand some of the hate mail and comments I got over it. But, at the same time, I get hate mail over almost any video I post. It really doesn't matter the content. I think I just got more than usual on the car videos.
