Commodore Amiga 1000 Restoration
🕑 Added 2021-12-29 03:03:05 +0000 UTCHere's that amiga restoration I mentioned. I had to re-edit the entire project on my laptop since I wasn't able to recover the project files from the dead hard drive.
Thumbnails and subtitles will be finished tomorrow.

When you say petrol, if you are talking about what us Americans call gasoline, then I wouldn't recommend that. I used that once on a Commodore VIC-20 (this was probably 20 years ago) to remove some sticky stuff and it melted the plastic.
Terrible news with the Mac Mini; but I was amazed how much the Amiga 1000 reminded me of the Centris line of Macintoshes that would come out a decade latter, including the metal support plate at the front/center of the case. It makes me wonder if members of the team migrated to Apple in the waning days of Commodore.

Petrol works great at removing sticky labels. I know it sounds crazy, but it really does work wonders. You can use the lighter refill stuff to reduce the smell a bit, but, any old stuff out the gas can works just fine.

WD-40 is also pretty good at getting rid of sticky stuff, though it's gonna smell like WD-40 for quite a while. I personally like that smell though.

Thaks for another great video! Always love seeing a good retrobrite! As for the "sticky stuff" have you ever tried sitrus spray? I've had great success with that for things like sticky glue and remnants of double sided tape :)

having a NAS is great for huge files but a simple setup with an external HDD and TimeMachine does a pretty good job of backing up the smallish project files that aren't on the NAS.
