I appreciate you showing your mistakes -- makes the result more interesting :) edit: I'm sure others have suggested you reach out to Shango066 on YouTube, monitor repairs are his bread and butter. He's a bit out of the retro community though.
It might be worth connecting a meter to the voltage regulator output to monitor while everything is in the cabinet. It could be changing once everything heats up.

Thanks for this video! I find it quite relieving to see people make mistakes, actually. Some months ago I managed to repair my Amiga 500 (basically a re-cap of the keyboard PCB and some contact cleaner for the ICs) largely thanks to videos like this. One thing I learned from you and other YouTubers is that one mistake does not necessarily break everything. Oh, and I liked that clip from StarTrek. 😁

Nice video, yes, I know the pain of restoring something, and then in the end there's always something not working correctly... (I still need to take apart my Hammond organ again to fix a couple of small things after revising it completely, and also the keyboard of my Roland D-50 after cleaning the keyboard as I put in two contact mats the wrong way...) About the monitor: I wouldn't use a color CRT, as it doesn't provide more or less white light, but just red, green and blue (that might look like white to our eyes, but isn't), the colored stripes might look strange then... Furthermore, I would just check all the components on the board, especially those that are connected to the IC, you have all the schematics, right? Sometimes, these old capacitors can be leaky, or make intermittent shorts.

A word of advice: the sound that compressed air does is really bad for your ears. I really recommend wearing earplugs when you use it.

Replace the discrete transistors on the board if any and make sure the metal film caps are in spec. If they are used for timing even a small deviation can cause issues. An check the power section of the board carefully :)
