🕑 Added 2024-09-23 12:43:21 +0000 UTCHey everybody!
Here is my latest Youtube video uploaded early to Patreon.
This one will only be up about two days early due to a very busy month.
It's another modern album! This one about an album I've been obsessed with this year; Charm by Clairo.
I hope you enjoy.

Clairo is one of my favorite artists to appear on the scene in the past ten years. I loved her lofi bedroom pop stylings early on, and I find her album Charm to be unbelievably original and great to listen to. Your assessment of the album and its themes, moods, and instrumentation is stellar. I myself am asexual and don’t really specifically relate to a lot of the themes in this album, yet I still find it so enticing to listen to because of its musicality and perhaps because of how honest and genuine what she’s singing about is to her life and feelings. I am also going to take a dive into the various influences you’ve brought up in this video because they sound stellar too! I love your Beatles vids but I also really love when you cover more modern artists too!

Second this! Lizzy’s work is fantastic (both sonically and emotionally). Older is her most cohesive, mature album so far, so I would definitely recommend listening to that before her previous albums.

I love timing - I listened to Charm for the first time a couple weeks ago and now this video popped up. I love ‘Thank You’ and ‘Terrapin’ specifically. The quick ascending piano line in the chorus of Thank You is just pure bliss to me. Elliot, I was wondering if you have listened to Lizzy McAlpine? Her newest album ‘Older’ came out in April and it just has great production elements and everything from her is just so personal and open.

(Also, so random: the first time I heard “Juna,” the piano riffs instantly made me think of the opening of “Wino Junko.”)

Omg same, I’ve been listening nonstop since Charm came out! Immaculate 70s vibes. She’s coming to my city in October and I’m so excited to see her 🤩
