Shield High's longevity
🕑 Added 2017-04-04 12:15:09 +0000 UTC Alright, so. Historically I don't have the best track record of sticking with things. Shield High is one of my more successful attempts at sticking with things and you all know how well that went. Not very, is the answer, in case there was any doubt. And so, while I'm still fairly eager and confident in my ability to work on Shield High for a while to come, I wanted to talk to you, my patrons, about the longevity of Shield High, and what, if anything, would be an acceptable measure for me to take to extend it.No, I'm not saying I want to quit. Nothing of the sort. Rather, I find myself in an annoying position of occasionally having ideas that just...don't fit Shield High, that I really want to do, but obviously can't. And so I'm wondering if you would accept the occasional month(after 0.7 is released most likely) where I take a month off from Shield High, and work on some other, much less ambitious idea where I basically just...play around with ideas. Maybe they'll be good. Maybe they'll be bad. Either way, I'll put them up here for you guys to see what I've turned out, and then I'll probably be back at work on Shield High the next month.
So yes, is that something you'd all be okay with? If so, when I'm actually thinking of doing the thing I'll probably post asking what idea of the ones I'm entertaining at the time you'd all like to see. A lot of it, right this moment at least, is mostly gameplay-related, but I also want to deal with something that isn't lesbians. I feel like there's only so many times two girls can fuck before you start recycling ideas and I hate myself when I see me doing that.
That's all for today, just wanted to see how you all felt about these things, and also try and start a habit of posting more patron-specific stuff on here. Hopefully I'll remember to do that. Comments and the like will help with that a lot, in case you're wondering. Silence on a post suggests no one is reading, and really hurts my efforts to build habits on this front.

Honestly wouldn't mind at all, I run into that a lot when writing, needing a small break. Like what shogan said assigned fetishes are things, the other thing (and I speak for myself alone here) sex isn't necessarily the only result of losing/winning for instance maybe beating someone in a duel opens up the ability to train with them once a week, or access to new items in the shop (if that's coming back)
Yeah, giving girls fetishes is a thing I do. Keeping track of who's into what is a bit rough, but at the end of the day I'm looking at some 180-odd characters. Obviously they don't all need full plots and things, but it's a lot of work, and as I go on and tick off fetishes, it's harder to come up with good ideas for new girls. Sounds fine to me, whatever keeps you from burning out. On the stale lesbians part, I read a lot of quests and I find that something that helps keep things fresh is fetish assignments. I.e. Girl A is into bondage, Girl B is into petplay, Girl C is into anal, etc. In a combat style game, the difference between victory and defeat being who the fetish gets applied to. It helps differentiate scenes and characters, gives the author some writing variety, and if put to vote gives the players some extra agency. Not sure if that helps, but you wanted responses :P
