When it comes to shadows, I dont know what im doing either. I'm glad to hear you liked the shadows there, it's one of the few areas I was quite proud of when rendering

As far as art is concerned I'm only a monkey brained art appreciator lol, so I wish I could properly comment on your new methods, but if it means anything I really like how the shadows turned out. The shadow line from her elbow across her breasts looks extremely natural.
