I appreciate your very thorough explanation, & taking the time♡ Makes perfect sense now that I've read this. Also the fact that I keep forgetting the society they live in, & lack of resources.. Thank you for the responses!

Yes, thank you so much for that answer!! ^ The method Osora uses is definitely not a preferable and safe method of binding - it is reflective of the society they live in which does not have the resources and knowledge of that our society thankfully has in regard to safe binding.

From what I could tell it looks like he uses bandages, which is generally not a great binding technique as they can easily be too tight and apply uneven pressure (although from what I could see in chapter six they didn’t look super tight and the majority of compression seemed to come from the binder they were wearing over it and I know little about corset binders). The main issue is that he is likely binding for the entire time they’re awake (safe binding time is generally considered 8 hours a day max with breaks) and while fighting (binding while exercising is discouraged due to decreased mobility increasing risk of injury and restricting breathing). Tldr this puts them at risk of damage from decreased blood flow (like injury to blood vessels in the skin), increased risk of rib injury (rib compression and/or inflammation from compressing the ribs long term, as well as increased risk of facture), risk of back pain, etc. Also if they don’t wash that shit they smell bad 👍. (Add on I realize this sounds rly bad - binding is not this bad if you do it safely lmao)

~Hope this doesn't come across as insensitive||ignorant, but can someone plz share, or explain how Osora is binding improperly? The topic has come up more than a few times & made me curious to know what that technique may be, & risks involved-- I'm just not familiar(‧_‧?) I could just Google it myself, but thought I'd ask my fellow patreon readers first𔘓
