Idk I think it’s cool how she gets depressed when she learns suicunes real reasons and a mental inability to do your hobby is very real, although I don’t think it was portrayed very well. Plus Red spends the entire story climbing up the hot springs it would feel kind of cheap if crystal could do it in half the time

I'm a little mad that the reason Crys lost her catching ability was a mental block and not a physical injury when she FELL FROM THE TOP OF A TOWER. Would have been a GREAT way to get her and Red introduced to each-other earlier on in the story by having her go to the hot springs to heal.

I personally super like the HGSS arc If just for the friendship of the dex holders And also yes, Pryce is a very overpowered man, or at least his Swinub is

In retrospect, kinda wish Gold & Crystal got to bond over having negligent single moms & being raised by their pokemon considering Crys sure did survive in the wild with 2 broken arms at age 6 solely bc some wild pokemon took her in & Gold considers his pokemon his family more than his mom who doesnt care if he checks in. Like it wouldn't have to be sad just some recognition that they're attatched to their pokemon the same way. It's a nice comparison to Silver & Blue's dynamic

So I’m pretty early on but volume 9 and ten are both obvious highlights. That said, it was kind of disappointing to see MATO’s art steadily get better and improve to the point where the final fight of volume 9 is really good and then have a new artist come in whose fights are confusing in a different direction! Not that I dislike his art, but I do dislike how every volume cover starting in ruby/sapphire looks so uhh… I’ll be prepared.
