Yeah the visual language is clumsy. Like with the "energy blasts" in One Piece being air ... it doesn't translate from page to screen very well

I like your idea of swithing char wheel to a ranking based on strength, charisma, etc. Sounds more interesting. Also, I vividly remember struggling to accept that Deidara's explosive creations were in fact clay and not paper. I think they even used paper SFX for the bird's wings flapping.
