Your absolutely right, I forgot about the text messages costing money. I had a plan where I got 100 messages free for the month and every message after that was some amount of cents. It could really add up after a while

A note about the fact that they email messages rather than text message- I believe it became common in Japan to send emails instead of text messages to communicate in order to bypass data rates- remember when you would be charged for each text and/or per character used? I’m not sure if they still do that or not, it might have stuck out of habit even though most cellular plans include unlimited texting (at least in the US, it might not be the case in Japan)

They do sell already made jello- you can usually find it around the same aisle the boxed jello is on, some with fruit in it with the other packaged fruit cups, and also refrigerated in the dairy section
