1000 patron/20k twitter thing idea

Here, the donuts that have creme filling use unicorn [j]i[z]z as the base ingredient. V-rex, the only dragon in the factory, is tasked with giving the "Hint of Dragon" donuts their signature flavor- the dragon creme pie flavor.

I made a pastry bag, and made a stretchy rig for it so it can look like the butt is gulping down that unicorn creme. He chugs it down, then splurts it out into the on-brand metal tub.

This was honestly going pretty well, but the fluids were killing me, and I was starting to fear it would turn into a situation where I just end up messing with fluids for awhile. Like, I want there to be some fluid splurting from the butt for most of the animation, like with each pull out of the pastry bag, but that would take forever to tweak and get just right...
So I thought of another idea, where there's still fluid and a creme milking theme, but some how the fluids will be more limited in a small domain and more predictable.

He would be watching some enticing imagery while using that toy, and there would be fluids squirting out that way. And today, I had this almost divinely inspired urge to model a unicorn, some unicorn dudes that will be entranced by watching him work.
I actually got pretty far into this, but feel a bit burnt out on it (for now, anyway). I started by sketching a head and general body shape:

And about 8 hours later, ended up with this! The head is quite different, but that's what happens when you can't draw a head that translates perfectly into 3d. I think it turned out pretty nicely, wip of course. There's no tail, the goods aren't modeled, the rig is can only do basic stuff for now, etc...

Here's when I just roughly placed an early version in the scene to get an idea of how to place them:

Compositionally, I think it's quite strong!
So yeah I'm not sure what I'm doing with this right now. I hate that so many of my ideas for a cool, little animation involve fluids and even when it seems like "oh it should be simple to get right!" it's not >_> ah well.

Hmmm, that isn't a bad idea- the motion is predictably, and I think if maybe I bake out a handful of alembics (like 5 or 6) for the parts where it pulls out... and just use those for that, and then unique bakes for when it pulls out completely... might work nicely. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, I did. :3

Man those liquids though, sheesh.

Wait, Did you make a Visual Novel some years ago?

Those donuts must taste good

A dragon creme pie donut... damn my clothes are gonna explode if I ever get a taste of that.

omg I really love that bag going in and out and the butt gulping it down <3

oh, I would definitely be happy with either version of this.... would it be possible to just calculate a single squirting fluid sim, and just reuse it across multiple pull-outs of the pastry bag? idk, just trying to think of ways you can make this less tough on yourself....

This. Is. A W E S O M E ! ! :D Don't stress too much about fluid, from the beginning you made consistent progress and this time will be the same, even better!

Sounds awesome

I second this

Looking great so far! I'd love to see the original donut idea realized, maybe you can work on it on and off and publish it at some point in the future outside of the stress of having to meet a deadline?

Looking forward to this!
