Starbuck1234!
I think she signed when she was 14, and I don't think it was much different from most other record deals. Usually under most cases, the label owns the masters. She was the label's first and only signee, and at the end I think she was around 80% of his revenue, so of course he didn't want the gravy train to stop. It was the ultimate betrayal. She wanted to purchase them but he refused to sell them to her. He wanted more and offered to give her one of her back albums for every new album she produced. Not a good deal so she walked. He knew if he allowed her to purchase her masters, then the label would be nearly worthless. It was about greed. What's another 100million when you have 200million. He wanted more. So, out of spite, he sold them to a man who has bullied her for a decade, who stood by and watched his signee's try to ruin her. It was the ultimate betrayal for Scott to sell to this man. All out of greed and spite. She made him all the money in the world, from nothing, he had no signees but her in the beginning. But he wanted more money. Its heartbreaking really.
