Wow, thank you guys so much for the info. It's really refreshing when people can be open about their struggles with mental illness.

Taylor struggles with depression and she is also her own worst enemy. She lashes out to hurt those, but also she is hard on herself. She sings about this often on the past few albums, since Reputation when a lot of her depression and demons manifested due to circumstances at that time. Still she struggles with self esteem issues, confidence, body image. She is a people pleaser, and if she isn't pleasing people it is like she feels lost. Miss Americana really goes deep and explores some of these issues and then of course she, as always, writes about them. One in particular is recent that specifically deals with mental health, depression and how it affects the people around you is called Renegade (Big Red Machine ft Taylor. Taylor wrote it but it is on their album because evermore had already been released). Its a wonderful song. This song is very autobiographical but most people believe it is told from her significant other's perspective, how damaged she was, how she hurts herself but in the process is demolishing the other person. A lot of mental health issues on evermore and this song, and of course Renegade. It would be nice to see your reaction to Renegade especially after This is Me Trying.
