Champagne Problems

This song AND video are pretty intertwined with each other, and the intricate lyrics and story-telling leave me wondering a little with this one. I give my best understanding of what the lyrics mean to me, though I may have (definitely did) get the meanings wrong with regard to her life. Enjoy!

Thanks me too!

I figured it was just a fan upload of an actual video ... me stupid, haha.

The lyric flip at the end (different perspective) is classic Taylor writing. I love when she does that. And yes the fact that Taylor and Joe wrote this together is crazy! Everything Midas touched did turn to gold - it could be a metaphor for their relationship. Chevy turned to gold so it was shiny and beautiful on the outside but couldn’t work or go anywhere. November flush and your flannel cure - being cold which makes me think of the color blue which makes me think they snuck a little gold and blue reference (I may be reaching here) Excited for you to hear the rest of the album!!

I loved your reaction! Always great to see you dive deep into the lyrics. Personally I prefer folklore but evermore is very beloved by fans. 'Music video' reaction was hilarious - I've done this many times too, watched something thinking it's a music video and then realize it's fan made.
