So glad you ended up reacting to it! When I was 20 I dated a 34 year old musician named John so this song got A LOT of plays in my car. Lol, I'm 28 now and can't IMAGINE being attracted to a 20 year old! But those are learning experiences I suppose

So many thoughts - Speak Now is such an underrated album!! Loved the video! This is such a powerful song. To have that self awareness at that age - and then reflecting about it a decade later on other songs that just highlight the impact this relationship had on her on such a young age - is really impressive. And I looooooove that she is literally poking fun at him and his sound that he deems so much more complex than her "cheap" poppy music by writing something about him that sounds like his stuff, just to prove that she can. Love it!!
