The Alcott by The National (w/ The Taylor Swift)
🕑 Added 2023-05-12 00:44:00 +0000 UTCPeople have been requesting both this song, and that I sing again at the top of my videos. Well, here both of them are. This is my first "The National" reaction. It takes some twists and turns, but ultimately I think it is a really well-constructed song. Not sure if everyone will interpret the lyrics exactly as I did, but who knows. Music is meant to be analyzed, but never agreed upon. So, hope you're having a wonderful week and are soon to have a happy weekend. Enjoy!

Thank you :) And yeah, mentioning it on my channel actually helps me to talk about it.

Personally I think that's nothing so horrible about Matty, he's just British lol Loved the reaction! Such a beautiful song. Def agree with the person that highlighted the similarities to Renegade!

Hi Andy, I really like your insight about the male perspective in this song! I honestly hadn’t yet found an interpretation I felt was really on point, but I really like your ideas… great job! And thx for the quick chord tutorial too! It’s a really pretty song to play… 🎸 And btw, I can totally understand your (hopefully) former/initial anxieties about sharing what happened to your mom (and to you) with new people/partners… BUT I definitely agree that if I love someone, the most important thing to me would be that they feel comfortable enough to share difficult things with me… not to spare me in some way. Just wanted to encourage you (hopefully you don’t really need it anymore!) that anyone who loves you and cares about you should want to help you handle the heavy weight of that loss throughout your lives together… trust that the great qualities you see in someone would be happily used on you! I feel like sharing yourself like that with someone shows them that you have faith and trust in them as a partner… 🥰
