I was already enjoying myself but this chapter really kicks it up a notch!!!

Kelly Chan

Oooohhhh! How deliciously evil of you! I'm sure that the King(Queen?) In Yellow would be cackling if they could read this chapter (and they possibly are since they're some kinda all somewhat all knowing being)! It's so funny that Striga doesn't know Archon is Rachel just yet. This twist definitely elevated the "Mwahaha!-ness" of this story! Like another commentor said, it does seem that the Jovians are trying to get the maximum emotional damage when the Archon is Rachel reveal happens to hurt Striga as much as possible. Fun!!! Yay for tragic Yuri!

John

So delicious. #FTY (For The Yuri) Thank you for the book!!

Well that would be why she seemed so upset when she used her power to win the fighting game. Here I thought she just hated her responsibilities and the power that drives them but no, she accidentally broke one of her principles. I wonder if Hastur is just after entertainment or what their game is, they do seem to favour Striga and her allies in the way a GM favours the player characters, pushing events towards their eventual victory but putting lots of obstacles and trauma along the way. Makes me wonder if telling Archon to not reveal her human identity is for her own good, or for the good of the developing story. Maybe both. Especially since Striga will probably be heavily conflicted if she learns who Archon is, so the longer she is kept in the dark the longer she can construct unbiased plans that push toward victory at any cost.

Lucy Stella Kitsune

Huh so that's why they chose Rachel

I am getting the suspicion that the Jovians never intended for Archon to take out Striga. The way Striga thinks Archon could be a major threat and how we now know Sophia feels about Rachael, I am guessing the Jovians wanted to bait a too obvious trap in the hopes that Striga decides not to risk it and take Archon out, only to find out afterwards Archon was Rachael. Let's be real, Striga is depicted as way too overpowered to be beaten by anything less than a catastrophe. But emotional damage, that will put her out of commission.

Hehehehehe you're eviiiiiiiilllllll

I was worried the yuri toxicity was dropping but Strix Striga has arrived to [s]save the day[/s] pour an entire periodic table worth of heavy metals into the mess. This will be a beautiful disaster.

Lucy Severine

Yeah, I feel as if the chapter absolutely works and delivers enough of a revelation by focusing on the time loop stuff and Striga's mentality and how uncertain she is about Archon, without also revealing how strongly she feels for Rachel. That part feels too much

Alex Claire

this is exciting! I wonder how Striga will react when she finds out she's been unknowingly using her power on Rachel?

Darkenedone

A very interesting shift here, seeing that Striga is maybe actually more obsessed than Rachel really creates room for some incredibly delicious conflict. That said, I do worry it goes a bit too far too soon on Striga. Ambiguity in how she’ll respond to Rachel’s confession has been a driving source of tension so far, and this really conclusively ends a major portion of that.

Chris Fox

Well, that was quite the twist.

Sean M.

Obsessive lesbians jousting past each other at full speed, each trying to win the princess who is secretly disguised as the knight on the other team - love it

Lucy Severine

Huh, this one seemed... Sudden? Feels like we got a bit too much information at once

Django

Ooh, didn't expect her to be a time looper. Very op with the Athena power. Nice to know she tragically reciprocates though.

Saphy

God I love it

ashlyn

great chapter, enjoy your break!!

Clara
