I think you guys forgot how protective Jesse is with kids. He has a little brother. Jesse refused to give his brother's joint back after taking the fall for him. There was the kid at the methhead house, as well as Thomas and Brock. Sure, Jesse is a criminal, but he doesn't want kids involved in any of this. He wants them to make better choices than he did.
