I’ve wondered why Rhanerya is such a loving mother and Alicent can’t seem to connect with her kids, even Helena whom she seems to feel real affection for. Imo it’s because Alicent’s children were conceived in a kind of dutiful sex that she couldn’t enjoy, with an old man who prob smelled like his rotting disease; meanwhile Rhaenyra conceived children during romantic sex with Harwin Strong and later Daemon, both men she chose to be with. Alicent never had a choice, she only married the King because her father pushed her into it. She probably never had a moment of pleasure in bed during her whole marriage. So the children that came were just one more thing she had to do.

Jaehaerys is his grandson well technically his great grandson. Aegon who is the king and alicent son. Alicent who is Otto daughter gave birth to aegon which makes aegon Otto grandson and Aegon Son will be Otto’s great grandson, but maybe the writers didn’t want to add great grandson in the script and they put just grandson which people say all time as far as great grand kids etc.
