I can understand brig and mckay’s dislike/annoyance towards sanji. they’re naruto fans ofc they tend to lean more towards the cool characters that’s why i dont take offense at their comments about sanji haha.. but when coming from jack aka the op guy, it irks me a bit honestly since he’s one of my fave on the couch. Anyway, they can hate the character as much as they want, it’s their channel after all. but still, hard as a fan of that character.

It can be jarring going from such good moments and peak storytelling to the most frustrating drawn out jokes and pacing, but that is unfortunately what the one piece anime was forced to be. There are some really good crew mate interactions that come from it as a bright side

Something to keep in mind maybe is the fact that the one piece anime makes 1-2 panels of gags or jokes much longer and dragged out to keep pacing down so they won’t pass the manga. Naruto did this with flashbacks, one piece with additional “fillers” that aren’t by themselves filler but are things that didn’t happen and usually don’t add much besides increase the run time, and in a way that doesn’t dissuade viewers that watch week to week. And they can do it really easily with so many constant important characters and different islands new things to see, where it feels very frustrating at times. Because of the nature of anime and the show, it makes the characters seem like they’re these gag characters the majority of the time, rather than the opposite where these gag moments are very short and a single panel. Sometimes they even create whole new plot lines from these gags like chopper and luffy getting lost, which doesn’t happen like that in the manga and really drags it out. I think just accepting that this will happen and that it isn’t the author, writers, animators, or really anyone’s fault and kind of separating yourself from these moments and chalking it up to the studio doing this instead of fillers all the time or flashbacks. I feel like you guys can kinda tell when it’s happening, just kind of detach from it, it’s animated and written with no intention of being true to the characters, just stuff to pad the pacing

I can say the same as in my original comment. Why you watch anime if you are not ready to accept another culture? In Japan the age of consent was 13 until a few years ago and now it’s 16. Whats not ok for you and me is ok for millions of other people and if you want to consume their content you need to accept their norms and laws

Out of curiosity I went back to the manga related to these episodes, and it only takes them one chapter to cross the desert to Yuba. Vivi's forgetfulness is only a one time occurrence too (with the birds). One Piece will have its lulls at time, but like Brig said, it comes with the territory of being a very long anime. It'll bounce back

I feel like you guys should have skipped the first episode and had Jack fill you guys in on the 2 minutes of canon (meeting the camel). All it did was make you think Vivi was abnormally forgetful and Ace was abnormally quiet, both of which was just byproduct of filler. PLEASE SKIP 102 - all of it is non-canon but I saw several comments already asking for it because it has filler that spoils canon down the road. We're all One Piece nerds here so people are gonna care about you seeing every single thing, but IMO there's too much content to get through, ignore us and skip where you can <3

I’ve done the exact same thing except in Clash Royale brig. I was in a clan that was super strict about swearing and would kick anyone that swore so I bid my time for months and eventually became elder. As soon as that happened I spammed every single curse and slur possible and then kicked everyone out of the clan. Said a few more and then left the clan. Absolutely hilarious to this day.
