I actually love lore in One Piece, but Skypiea just feels like it's dragging at this point. Alabasta had downtime too, but it always felt like things were moving forward. Here, it's a lot of buildup with little payoff so far. Hoping it picks up soon.

That's exactly how the Chopper vs Shura fight starts in the manga (Chapter 248). Everything else in the anime before the cut to the mast being on fire is technically anime filler. It can be jarring for those of us who watched the og anime first, but One Pace sticks to the near exact pacing of the manga.

I kind of feel like u taking what they’re saying the wrong way a little. Like the arc in a sense is literally disconnected from the regular island arcs because it’s in the sky lmao. In the lens of a first time watcher it’s perfectly normal for them to wonder just how this arc, which is in the sky, will come into play in the story they’ve always known down in the regular ocean. It’s not like most of them were complaining about it feeling disconnected they’re just wondering about it. And Carter more so meant his intrigue of what an island in the sky looked like in the beginning of the arc wore off. He then was waiting for the plot to thicken which he states has been getting more interesting as of recent so he’s saying his intrigue has come back again. Didn’t mean to write such a long text but just had to let out my thoughts

Guys I don't get you critiques about this stuff being "connected" to the rest of the story. It's a legendary island in the One Piece world, you'll get more lore, trust the process. How was Drum connected to the rest? It's the same thing, and it's one of the best arcs until now. Also Carter, how is the intrigue wearing off? You got no answers yet, haven't even seen Enel, I don't get it but okay. I watched Skypea almost 10 years ago and remember barely anything and I'm thoroughly enjoying it rn, except the early and middle chunck of the Satori fight cause he's annoying as frick but apart from that it has been awesome and SO FUNNY.

They only need to watch the last 3 episodes of that arc ep226-228 but for ep 226 only watch the last 5min. If Jack remembers what happens, he can explain what happen to lead them to that point. It might be a little confusing. It will feel like in Naruto When Sasuke was in the hospital after Itachis genjutsu then they had a filler arc but ended with Sasuke in the hospital again so it looks like there was no gap and picks up were it left off.

It hasn't cut anything important so far but we also haven't gotten to the real juice yet. Really hope they keep every lil important detail possible.

Shocked by the Gregor mention, The Underland Chronicles was one of my favorite series growing up next to Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. Brig was killing me this upload, especially when he lost it at Chopper blowing the whistle. One Piece's humor takes some getting used to, but once you get acclimated to the characters and the vibe of the show, it's so funny. Skypiea is one of the funnier arcs as well. Carter noticing the Native American parallels with the Shandians is on point. One Pace is cooking for this arc, but I suggest you guys watch Luffy's impression of Sanji's "Ordeal of Love" if you have a chance. It was cut from One Pace, but is a pretty funny scene. It happens right after he wakes up after the dreadful Satori fight

Even beloved arcs have padding and pacing issues from Toei (like Mford having 44% of runtime cut out in One Pace). I'm personally fine with either option to be honest, but all that really matters is if the boys are bothered by it or not.

What I love about One Piece is that everyone goes into it the same way, treating it like any other anime you've seen before, focussing on what's right in front of them. And then after several hundred episodes you realize everything you've been shown up to that point was there for a reason. Nothing is by chance or just tossed in because Oda thought it would be neat. And when it hits that from the very beginning Oda has been stringing you along the whole time, that's when the hook is set and I never tire of watching other people fall down that rabbit hole.

Honestly I’d vote for you to stick to one pace for the rest of the show. I was skeptical at the beginning cause I never checked it out, but one pace is not bad at all. Especially considering 4 eps/week will take eternity for you to catch up with one piece if you don’t use one pace

No way for the entire show imo. Having watched both One Piece and One Pace all the way through, the only arcs that are elevated with One Pace are Skypiea, LRLL, TB, then FMI through to Zou. One Piece is a better experience for all other arcs, especially WCI onwards as One Pace cuts out all the great extended animation and has jarring cuts in a lot of the hype and emotional scenes.

One pace has been great so far, I didn't expect this arc to be so enjoyable. They cut out the "ordeal of love" impersonation which is a hilarious moment, but we didn't have to see all Usopp's gags 50 times in a row so it's a fair trade

they're loving skypiea right now? brig literally said the arc is getting better by the episode and they're going to be using one pace for the foxy arc so it should be way more enjoyable (also unpopular opinion but foxy arc is way more entertaining than syrup village and gets way to much hate)

Satori fight is one of the worst and painful fights of one piece, should of skipped it tbh, even one pace couldn't make it less painful to watch. Skypea is def one of my worst arcs of one piece, everything about it just sucks except the lore drops, and I can see you guys are in pain going through this. Yes OP is my all time favorite but sorry this shit is boring af. Also please skip the upcoming Foxy arc oh god...you guys are gonna be in pain watching one piece for awhile until few eps pre water 7, from there onward theres only 1 bad arc (thriller bark), everything else cooks though

In earlier episodes montblanc cricket or the monkeys said the shore they were on was really deep. Usually that’s not the case for an island/shore, it’s a gradual slope down the further out you go. That was another indicator that the island was split apart.
