It really is hard to explain Luffy and why you like him. Hi stupidity is a big part of it, I think, because he's never stupid about the really important stuff, but also... he has insight, I think. He knows what's important even when he doesn't get exactly what led to the situation everyone is in.

The manga version of skypiea is not as bloated as the adaption. I think that's part of the whole "pacing" issue people have. It's alot like the boat arc from Berserk. If you read it as the chapters came out it seemed long, but when you go through it all at once it's fine.

Thriller Bark is just another arc that people struggled with due to pacing issues. It's going to be the same thing as skypeia with people enjoying the rewatch more thanks to one pace. Tbark has my favorite crew moment and lets the crew shine together more than most arcs where they favor isolating members for fights. The villain is also great.

Luffy is a very inspirational character. He’s very free and liberates so many people and countries. He’s stupid, but he knows exactly what others are feeling and what needs to be done in serious situations. He seems overpowered, but he really isn’t — he has to fight to the death most of the time. His character development is very subtle, so you need to pay attention to him to really understand him. It makes me so happy that you guys are loving Luffy so far!

I don’t mind them sharing the things they know precisely because they don’t know the details. They’ve brought up gear 2, Haki, etc without actually knowing when it’ll happen or what it is exactly so for me it’s no big deal, especially since it became part of what’s fun for them to mention and it seems to amuse all of them. It’s just entertaining. Plus I personally prefer being aware of what they know. The only thing I would mind them sharing are specific plot points or twists that they actually understand.

Mckay and Brig have pretty much heard and seen a lot of plot points, character names and arc names, Which sometimes can be inevitable. They’ve been mentioning bits and pieces since they started the show. You might not wanna get too bummed out about the one name because they know a lot more. I just wish they would keep it to themselves and not spoil things for others. Carter and Cannon did not know anything about haki/haku until brig/mckay brought it up.
