Sure, but the 97’ anime may pique their interest in the manga if they ever want to read it, on screen or in their own time. Besides I think it’s a good way to get into berserk since it’s short and it would be fun to see them react to it

As a manga reader I honestly love the animation don't get people's problems with it either. The fight scenes are good too. Not the mention the best sequences has not even happened yet so I am not expecting them to go off with animation with these early short fights. It is too early to be disappointed imo. Especially when the animation is definitely better that good lol.

Berserk is something that needs to be read imo and, even though it’s a seminal masterpiece, the manga is a hard sell because it’s far more graphic than anything in GoT. A lot of the imagery comes straight from the darkest depths of medieval history

The manga is known to be jjk/ds but much better. There was a lot of hype. That’s the reason you see so many people disappointed. We still think that animation is good and the show is fun! But obviously to the manga fans, it’s disappointing, especially with all the comparisons made.

I have read it, and I think its more YOU haven't read other manga. Berserk, vagabond, opm, csm part 1 all have incredible art like or if not better than sakadays and none of them are "by far" better than each other. Also, I think the anime style rly is just personal prefernce cause this art style is great imo obviously it could always be better tho

The animation style and perspective is what feels eerie. For example, I don’t think ufotable would animate this show well either

The soundtrack is from the same guy who made mha and haikyu ost, its cooking. And you aren't gonna get god tier animation from a non big name studio, people have too high expectations after jjk, ds, csm etc

This show gives me Gintama vibes, especially with the premise of an OP main protagonist that chooses to live a regular life, but cool characters/enemies are drawn towards him. i feel like it'll have a lot of gag tropes but will definitely have arcs that are serious and peak just like gintama, hoping for the best (from a non-manga reader) but so far its been pretty good all things considered

Sakamoto days is like demon slayer/ufotable but in manga form. It is by far the best drawn manga out there. It is really hard to describe why it’s dissatisfying unless you have read the manga. Imagine if Demon Slayer or JJK suddenly got animated like OPM S2. It’s not bad, but you are left desiring A LOT.

I don’t know. I don’t think they would understand or get Gintama’s humour. A lot of the humour in anime (like obvious tropes and things just go right over their head) just doesn’t mesh with them. Gintoki is the boss man but don’t know how well it would be received by them if they’re not familiar with Japanese comedy

because the chapter showed something that was shown too early it would be better from a viewers experience if that thing is shown later on, also in the trailer they did show some scenes from those chapters so they most likely got moved to a better sequence.

I see your points. The reason I'm not sure they will get the humor is because in some anime reactions there are times when they misinterpret or don't fully understand the 'read between the lines' context. If that makes sense 😅 BUT I get what you're saying! They do have to watch Bleach first though!! The 'big three' and DBZ are parodied too much hahaha 😂 I think Gintama might really spoil Bleach for them hahaha

I get you, but like they’ve checked off most of the shounen animes, even though they haven’t finished much, but they would still understand most of the references and I feel like they like alot of humour so it would be a fun watch. If that makes sense…😅 and I feel like if they can watch a show like severance who isn’t that widely popular, then it wouldn’t be that odd for them to react to gintama.

Don't know why manga readers were upset with Ep 1 instead of this one. They skipped, like, two chapters in between Ep 1 and 2. If anything, they're cutting through the slice-of-life content faster than in the original.

Actually, please no 😆. Or not yet at least. Don't want people complaining about them not reacting to Gintama 'the right way'. Potentialy ruining their experience with the show. 1. Personally I wouldn't recommend Gintama to new anime watchers. It is now one of my favorite animes and in my heart Gintoki is my husbando 😛, but it took me 2 tries to get into it. The first time I watched it I found it funny at times, but couldn't understand everything and all the parodies/references. Also, I was still into animes with the typical shounen formula so I had no patience to wait for the story arcs. A LOT of random episodes in the beginning (and in between). My second watch was some time after and immediately fell in love. By that time I had consumed more anime outside of the shounen genre and learned more about japanese culture. 2. Maybe it's not the best show for a reaction channel? Definitely in their own time though. I paused a lot to look up the references, but also when I was dying of laughter so I wouldn't miss anything😆. Shout out to the fan subbed episodes back in the day by the way. They always had these footnotes or explained the references at the very beginning/end of the episode. I feel old now 😩

I think people were expecting the animation and choreography of the fights to be god tier. Honestly, I can't lie and say I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing, so I am a little disappointed. I also hoped for a better soundtrack, something with a similar vibe to Samurai Champloo. But overall, the anime is still pretty good. The humor reminds me a lot of Mob Psycho or One Punch Man for some reason, which I very much love.

In JJK, the characters is what I like about the show most. I can watch them talk all day. Sakamoto didn't quite catch me like that yet. But maybe in the future episodes

its only the 2nd episode everyone's attention span is so cooked. i get its not jjk and solo leveling $100000 budget animation meat head fight fest from the very beginning and I wish it could live up to the manga rn too but people need to atleast have an ounce of patience. even some manga readers miss the slice of life aspect from the beginning because of how serious the plot has gotten.

Personally I don't think finding a show mid/underwhelming necessarily equals hate. You just maybe find it worth a 7 and not a 10. And that's okay. I enjoy the show, because many things remind me of Gintama. I can however understand people having a different experience with the first 2 episodes when they perhaps expected something like JJK/Kaijuu 8/DDD because of all the hype.
