Guys I’ve been on holiday in Japan so missed these uploads on the day but OMG what a journey this has been! Mob is truly one of the most PERFECT anime out there, the ending is so perfect. Idk who on the couch said it but yes, the final “villain” was Mob losing control! It was hinted at quite a bit but in still surprised y’all caught that. Reigen running to Mob while the 100 theme plays is so poetic, him reaching his 100 and using all his power to reach and save Mob 😭 after s2 you question how there’s more story but I really do believe this ending was perfect. It makes sense for Mob’s final obstacle to be confronting himself, literally. I also love the shows ability to bring back old character (friends or foe) and this time them coming back to save Mob after he’s helped them out so many times was just so good. Mob has grown in so many aspects since episode 1. He’s more confident (was finally able to ask out his crush and handle being rejected), he’s more athletic/less reliant on his powers (he’s finally keeping up with while running 🥲), he’s more expressive and not afraid to hide his personality anymore. We love to see it for our best boy! Also they celebrating Reigen’s bday together is a nice callback to in s2 when Reigen spent his bday alone cuz of his fight with Mob. Look how much HES grown as well :’)

Watched entire Mob with you guys for the first time, it's a 9/10 show for me as well. 🙏 Carter's talk at the end about dealing with parents' divorce hit close to home, I 100% agree that Mob's situation is very relatable for teenagers who went through stuff like that for sure💗

i usually sob all 3 of these episodes. i cried when i read the manga as well. seeing mob realize that it's not a monster inside him it's just him and his emotions, then seeing the full circle moment of everyone he's impacted supporting him on his journey of destruction to acceptance is so beautiful. the ending is so perfect. i can't hold back tears when mob is crying or when he's laughing. ending on him just laughing fully with his whole heart makes my heart so happy. Also to add on you guys made a good point that everyone accepted themselves this whole season is basically about that. Even the weird alien episode the guys in the club had to think about what they were really doing and what they were missing out on by not being enthusiastic in the club. even the body improvement club they may be strong but them realizing that mob is that powerful but was still trying on his own with out relying on them made them work harder. the show always seems so random and like it doesn't have a plot however the plot is just life and acceptance. i love shows like this because they take you on an adventure then bring it to a beautiful close. sorry if this makes no sense i'm emotionally rambling cause i love this show and not many people react to it.

I'm back home and I was finally able to fully watch the reaction to these last few episodes and wow! I loved your guy's thoughts and feelings towards the show, I'm so glad you all loved it. I really appreciate the acknowledgement of how the messages of this show can be carried throughout life. I agree with a lot of commenters here, it legitimately changed me for the better. There are so many things that I could talk about for this last arc, the parallels, the themes, everything! It truly is amazing how well constructed it all is.I want to take this time to talk about Teru, Ritsu, and Reigen: Their respective themes and how it progresses across the story. Teru learns what true strength is in this last arc. After their fight in season 1, Teru couldn't help but put mob on a pedestal, and that kinda blinded him to who mob truly was. But seeing mob in that state put it into perspective for him, mob makes mistakes too. Mob told him that he is just an average person, and Teru echoes the same sentiment here, Mob isn't a perfect person and that's okay. With this realization, Teru is able to save the civilians and wake up mob internally. He finds strength in forging an HONEST connection with mob, and sees him for who he is. Ritsu learns to communicate with his brother in this last arc. He is finally able to acknowledge his built up resentment for "shigeo" specifically. He talks about much he hated the destructive side of his brother and how much it scared him. This honest communication is what helps ritsu see beyond this resentment and finally accept that this is a part of who his brother is and that he shouldn't need to fear it. Ritsu sets an example for mob here, and it allows him to find "shigeo" in his mind and have a dialogue with himself. Finally, Reigen learns self acceptance in this last arc. Here, he is confronted with the fact that he inadvertently worsened mob's problem by his inability to be genuine with him and he makes a decision to be truly honest for the first time. This decision brings him to tears and yet he pushes forward in confronting what he hates about himself. He admits the things he has done wrong, the things that have hurt mob and takes full accountability for it. and in turn, mob learns that everyone has flaws and a different side to them. Mob struggled and was afraid of his own strength, he was unwilling to communicate and open up about his guilt, and refused to accept his powers for what they are. Everyone saw this "ugly" side of him and yet they continued to love him unconditionally. It's everyone's efforts and their own growth that was able to get through to mob in the end.

The ending is great but personally I would have preferred if Tsubomi stayed just a childhood crush that Mob moved on from, I feel it better suits the theme. Hinting at a romance between the two at the end kinda dulls that impact of the rejection. Even Mob just seriously stating they are just friends would have worked.

I started watching it back in 2016, when the first season started, and ever since have been keeping up to date. Great discussion guys. This show is way more introspective than one would thinking when starting it. It's so interesting that we see Mob changing all these people around them and learning life lessons. He learns that he needs to consider his emotions more, that people can change, that personal ability isn't better than understanding the power that others also have, and more. But while he learned this and shared that with those around him, the catalyst in the end was learning to accept himself. He's such a great character. I can't even lie, this is one of my fav reactions from you guys. It's been so fun. Miss Mob already 🥲

Also one of my favorite symbolisms from the last scenes with Reigen running in there is that he takes his shoes off. If I'm not wrong, in Japanese culture, that's symbolic for someone who is committing suicide. But in this context, I think it means he's willing to risk his life to get to Mob and to stop him. Amazing post-discussion there. My favourite part was Carter's point about how Reigen helped Mob find self-acceptance by setting the example himself first, and that made me think about how this main character duo seemed completely opposite in the beginning - loudmouthed liar swindler with gullible shy kid. But actually they dealt with the same problem - wrestling with self-hatred, acceptance and the concept of their hidden self - and had the same character growth that peaked at the exact same time. They were a duo that seemed like they had nothing in common and were only tied together by Reigen's lies, but by the end, you see how Reigen actually understands him the most. Mob is peak character writing. Thanks for the three episode drop! The love you guys gave this series always came through in the thoughtfulness of your reactions; this was the peak of your channel for me and why I started participating on Patreon. Wow this was such an emotional ride! It's amazing how this show manages to express everything so deeply and beautiful but also in a very relatable way that hits close to home. Everyone has their own demons that they try their best to suppress. Everyone is fighting battles we're sometimes unaware of. That's why it's always important to be kind and be yourself, accepting your imperfections. Gosh, I just loved seeing our sweet lovely Mob tackle his emotions and feelings in a healthy way with some help from his close friends and family. Reigen and Mob's friendship is so beautiful and wholesome. This was such an epic and perfect ending to an epic show/journey that will remain unforgettable. Mob Psycho 100 will always hold a special place in my heart. And it still holds the title of my favorite anime and I've watched a lot throughout the years. I remember reading the manga after season 2 aired because I couldn’t bring myself to wait and the tone of the last arc was so bleak. There’s some little scenes and details I would’ve liked the anime to include (nitpicks really) but I’m very happy with how the anime tackled this arc and season in general. I feel that both the manga and anime are amazing in how they choose to convey the same story

"If everyone is not special, maybe you can be who you want to be". This episode you realize that the first season intro wasn't just about Mob, but also about Reigen. He takes the advice he has given Mob the entire show and applies it to himself for the first time. Pretending to have powers isn't what makes him special. Particularly, it's his LACK of powers throughout the entire show is what has given him is power. From convincing Claw members that they need to live normal lives, to punching Shimazaki in the face, to ultimately being the one to save Mob from himself. And the thing that snaps Mob out of it isn't realizing Reigen doesn't have powers. It's that fact that Reigen is actually confessing that out loud. This guy who had been manipulating Mob (nicely, most of the time), was finally coming to terms with the truth and practicing what he preaches. Also not-so-fun fact, taking off your shoes in Japan is associated with suicide, meaning Reigen was accepting his own death to try to save Mob. And, if he did die, people wouldn't think Mob murdered him. Reigen is my goat.

I cry every time I watch these last few eps, the symbolism is NUTS aaaa. I will say, Shigeo going all out with his powers is extremely scary and I love what they did in the anime, but it was sooo much scarier in the manga! You just can’t beat classic black and white, and ONE really utilizes the style I’m sure you noticed Teru’s battle with Mob here was a complete mirror to Teru’s first fight with Mob. It really shows how much Teru has grown 🥹 Something that was a lot more clear in the manga: Ritsu was planning on letting Shige seriously hurt him again like he did as kids, hoping that would snap him out of it. Ultimately Ritsu decided that Mob doesn’t deserve to go through trauma all over again, and instead goes 100% and tries to help him through it. Truthfully, I don’t think Shigeo was going to hurt him, the dark side of Mob still really cares about his brother, and even when Ritsu destroyed the bouquet he threw him away harmlessly ♥️ I mentioned before that the anime really tones down some of the dark themes from the manga. The biggest culprit of this is at the end with Reigen when he tries to get to Mob. In the manga, Reigen puts his shoes down calmly next to each other, and if you are aware of Japanese culture you know that’s symbolism of someone planning to commit suicide. Reigen fully expected himself to die there. Seems like they (whoever “they” are in this case) wanted the last ep to be more hype and upbeat, and with the animation being the way it is, I don’t necessarily think it was a bad idea! Plus that song drop was pretty fire 🔥 Remember just a few episodes ago when Reigen was all alone and depressed for his birthday? Just a year later and he has so much support 🥹 if I were him I’d cry too! and you’re so right, the Claw members would have for sure joined too! I guess it would have been rather crowded lol! I’m so happy you guys liked it! Everyone was pretty much glued to the edge of their seats the whole hour 😂 Hopefully I didn’t forget any neat facts, it’s been sooooo long since I read the manga, I should give it another read. Mob’s story really resonates with me and as goofy as this sounds, I really believe this series made me into a better person. Now I just need to find a cool box set of the anime! Come on Studio Bones I would buy it!!

I think reigens other side is that he smokes. They show cigarettes when Reigen was talking about his other side and I'm assuming he does still smoke and tries to hide it. And when Reigen first met Mob he immediately put away his cigarette showing that he doesn't want to smoke Mob.

I really suggest anyone who’s interested to check out the Reigen manga (just called Reigen)! ONE released it after the series was done. Unfortunately it doesn’t include much Mob, but instead focuses on Reigen and Tome, but trust me, it’s really really good. I really wish Bones would animate it, to really complete the whole series, but I don’t think that’s ever gonna happen 😔

This show has such a good message. Being yourself is literally the hardest thing in the world especially when you are young. I think a lot of us live in fear of what others think of us and we dont learn that no one really gives a shit until you get older. And a lot of people are still dealing with that for various different reasons. For me the message is not just accepting yourself but taking action to grow and experience things if you refuse to accept yourself right now.
