i think the point is that's how racism works in real life too. there are many minorities who look down on people of their own race if they don't fit their respectability politics expectations. they demonize those other people so much that they don't even recognize them as the same kind. it's unreasonable but it makes sense because that is how it is in the real world

I always find it weird that gabi says "your kind" even though they are the same kind. It would have been nice to see eldian vs marley as the main conflict (2 different race) instead of having eldians go against eldians, like having two completely different entities of ppl fight would have been interesting. The warrior unit is so powerful and can turn into titans but yet they choose to be loyal to marley despite how their people are treated. When reiner and bertholdt said "this filthy race" I thought they were a completely different entity lol which really intrigued my interest at first

Rewatching this season REEEAAAALLLY makes me feel like all the Gabi Stan’s who’s only point was “she’s just like Eren so if you hate Gabi you can like Eren too” just simply did not watch the show 😭 just cause you have the same MAIN goal doesn’t mean you’re the same character in anyway, they act completely different and Gabi is waaaayyy more prone to attacking others than Eren ever was in the beginning 🤷‍♂️

As Ukrainian rewatching this part of season 4 in 2022 before released part 2 was unbearable hard. Cos formerly it was only about fictional battles for me, but since February 2022 I’m experiencing real war around me and every scene, every dialogue hit in the different level! Especially this dialogue between Gabi and blonde girl who Sasha rescued — it’s like I heard Russian propaganda and excuses about the invasion in my homeland. So in many ways I can understand Jaegerists and Eren’s desire to wipe off the map the main reason their suffering. After three year I’ve found internal peace, but it’s still hard live with knowledge what any minute a missile could hit your house and you or members of your family or your friends could get stuck or even die under the rubble. I know I’ve never been able to forgive Russian for that they did. It’s just like Eldians and Marley. Isayama is truly comprehends human nature!

In AOT's case the rewatch hits even harder because you start to notice all the foreshadowing and small details you wouldn't have realized in the first watch which is amazing

I find the conversation of who inherits Eren's titan so sad. Mikasa says she'll do it cause she loves Eren, Jean says she shouldn't cause deep down he has feelings for her so he volunteers himself, Connie then says no cause Jean's his best friend so he volunteers himself. Then Sasha says no cause Connie's basically her brother so she volunteers herself. Death is constantly around the corner and yet none of them are prepared to lose each other 😭

What's crazy is that back when they were in Marley fighting alongside with Eren, Sasha made eye contact with Gabi and ended up not shooting her because she's a kid. Who knew her mercy led her to getting killed by that same kid. So sad, we forever will love Sasha and the humor she brought to the show❤️ That episode with her saving Kaya I still considered at one of the best eps in the show.

Gabby and Falco is the best. Sashas death was one of the saddest in the show and it sucks that she had to die to make this happen but I read something about Isayama originally having Sasha killed defending that girl in the village but stopped after his editor got emotional. Theres some evidence for that in the manga where sasha is missing for the next arc which was fixed in the anime.

This episodes are very emotional. I like that they are showing use the past and present. I like Falco as well. I feel like he's beginning to understand things a bit better and is less stubborn than Gabi. I feel bad for Kaya because I know she's trying to make peace and understand things, but i keep wondering how she will react when she finds out Gabi killed Sasha. The brainwashing and the Neverending cycle of war is crazy. I'm excited for Fridays drop!

on a serious note. You can see Eren waiting for the best solution over the 4 years gap between season3 and 4. He gave chance to Paradis military to solve everything. When he yells at Hange it feels like he is trying to get any solutions out of her, something she can do maybe to change their fate. Attack on Liberio was his violent solution to the issue at hand, where he and Zeke have limited time.

To Brig’s question, only Titans transformed with Zeke’s spinal fluid can be controlled. Jack, it was raining when Armin transformed because of the explosion being in the middle of a sea and yes “sneaked” is a word. Eve missed the rage, me too me too. Sasha’s ancestors were likely from Southern Eldia (now Southern Marley) which is why they got the accent. Also, no post-credit scene Carter? 🥺

To answer Brig's question, Zeke can only control the titans he creates. The only titans that can control pure titans are the female titan, with limits, and a fully realized founding titan.
