Cannon, why do you dislike episode 7 so much? I didn't love it, but it was nowhere near as bad as people were making it seem. The vibe I got was, "oh no, edgy girl says edgy thing sometimes." Anakin Skywalker from the prequels is way more of an edgelord than Kali lol. Edit: post episode discussion cleared it up a bit lol

It's become a common myth that people who were abused abuse other people. Look it up, that's not really the case. BUT, Billy's dad did go too far. As a father of two now adult children myself, and they both still like us and want to do stuff together, I can say that you can discipline without humiliating your child like he did. Was some form of discipline needed? Yes. Just get after him and then take his car away or something. Shaming him in front of his step mother is just counter productive.

i was really traumatised by bob's death for so many reasons but the biggest one was that I WAS SO PISSED THAT HE DIDN'T JUST KEEP RUNNING!!!! i have never been in a life or death situation, but the way i would KEEP RUNNING UNTIL I GOT HOME! for him to just stand there and smile at joyce...PISSED ME OFFFFFFF! anyway, caden going "he's good", "he's fine" was SO FUNNY to me.

I truly loved this episode along with Kali and Els bond. Noone can understand them like they do each other. Kali truly cared for her sister and wanted to help her heal in her way. Kali lost her family and had to survive alone. Shes just what El would be if she remained alone in the woods, having to steal to look after herself. Kali truly was heartbroken losing El, she was never using her, she simply chose the darker path. I do believe they belong together, but with Kali coming back with El. Eleven is too pure and has a family to go back to fortunately. Kali wasn't manipulating El to be cruel, it's all she knows and found her way to heal by taking the fight to them. Kali cant have a normal life with the government around guys. Also Eleven has always had more than one power, one of them has always been finding people, hence why Papa was using her to spy on Russains during s1. Eleven also has the abilities of Telekinesis, Telepathy and more.

Just based off what was shown in this ep I don't think it's necessarily justified to have much sympathy for Billy or see his dad as terrible. Billy is an asshole and even continued to be an asshole when the mom and dad was rightfully concerned about where Max was when he was supposed to watch her and he also openly disrespected Max and her mother. Not to mention the smoking in the house. Just saying, far far worse would have happened to me if even half the stuff Billy said came out my mouth 🤣

I just don't see why people don't like this episode. This was the only chance i think El was able to get good character development. She had to have closure with the situation and her family it answered the question to if there were more kids out there since she's number 11 now we know there are more kids out there probably with different gifts as well. It also helped El realize where her home is since she's never had a place to really call home. this season a lot of people went outside of hawkins to talk to people.

I never had an issue with episode 7. I feel like it was good character development for Eleven and it was cool seeing another character who has powers like her. They already set up Eight in the first episode so we knew they were going to bring her back into the story somehow.
