Getting back into this again after taking a pause years ago has been fun, but at times they do tend go drag on even if you skip the fillers. Some of the flashbacks are great, but some get repetitive or go on way too long. I still love the show though and watching the characters grow.

The thing about Guy surviving that was VERY criticized when this episode released was that for YEARS, they've been telling us if anyone ever unleashed all 8 Gates, that person would die. That lack of payoff of that after years of hearing it was what sucked. Of course we all love Guy, but that moment where Naruto saves him kind of diminishes his sacrifice.

The sage gave them only marks on their hands. The rest of their powers awakened due to other circumstances. Naruto gained Six Paths Sage Mode, similar to Madara's (Six Paths chakra and black spheres), because he received the chakra of all the tailed beasts. He received the chakra from 2nd to 7th tails from them personally when he fought them, and Obito gave him pieces of the 1st and 8th tails' chakra, along with a new 9th tails. The combination of this chakra awakened Naruto's Six Paths Chakra Mode, similar to what Madara and Obito had. Sasuke, on the other hand, received chakra from Hashirama (Ashura's reincarnation) and possessed Indra's chakra, which allowed him to awaken the Rinnegan on the brink of death. Madara awakened it in the same way: despite transplanting part of Hashirama's body after the battle in the Final Valley, his Rinnegan only awakened when he was already close to death.

In Sakura’s defence, it’s the studio’s stupid way of showing it. It was literally one panel in the manga - Óbito asked her to take out his eye, she pulled out the kunai, and then Madara showed up in the span of a few seconds. The studio made it seem like she’s hesitating for like 10 min.

I’ve been lacking in these Naruto reactions, so I decided to catch up today and all I got to say is that goddamn, I forgot so much that happened in this war arc😭 Naruto was one of my first animes and it’s been so long since I’ve watched it, I get amnesia with this show sometimes bc I genuinely forgot abt guy “dying” but then getting saved😭 Still love might guy, he’s my goat and still love sakura (yes, even tho she does things i cant defend and i gotta look away from my screen to save my own peace 😭) Honestly I can’t wait for the guys full thoughts at the end of this war arc, we got a lot to go over 😭
