Yes, ‘Jinbei-zame’ means ‘whale shark’. All of the original 7 warlords are themed after animals, and as it’s clear by now, Jinbei’s theme is a whale shark. But fun fact: Jinbei is also a traditional set of Japanese clothing used as relaxed and longue wear during the summer, which also happens to be what Jinbei the one piece character is wear, so a double play on words by oda there as he occasionally does lol.

the issue with the anime in general is they tried to keep the weekly episodes so they extended the episodes in weird ways. The pacing problem wasn’t an issue with the manga only the anime. I thought one pace’s purpose was to get as close to manga pacing.

The pacing in Marineford is very bad, but since the arc is very important to the story, it's not a big problem to watch it normally. But as I said, you may not remember this, but the pacing in Marineford is trash. Minutes saved with One Pace: 354.

Obviously its best to also One Pace Marineford, as it is for every arc. You have seen how bad the pacing is in Impel Down. Both are exceptional arcs in the manga and in One Pace, as One pace is close to the manga, while the original anime is just worse. But worse doesnt mean bad obviously, I'm looking forward to the marinfeord reaction either way :)

i have to take a sec to talk about bon clay because his character means so much to me. hes unishamidly himself he lives life freely and without any care of judgement and when i first watched this i was young and questioning myself and bon clay taught me to just accept myself and life with full passion. oda may get some flak for how he draws the okama and the jokes but bon clay is the best written gay character in anime and ill stand on 10 toes when i say that. no big anime have a gay character that is so much more then his sexuality he loves his friends he fights for what he believes in he will take on any odds and do anything to those he calls his nakama. he is my goat

Yeah I don't know how the one pace is for Marinford, but the one piece pacing definitely shows in marinford arc and ruins some of the tension, and some scenes are VERY annoying because of the pacing imo. If I were recommending to a friend, I would recommend one pace from now and until like ep 1060 lol, no joke.

If you watch that instead of watching several episodes in the OG anime, you could start Marineford earlier if you one pace the straw hats adventures and that single episode is just 23 minutes.

Bon Clay played the imposter in Alabasta, came to get Luffy is the frozen hell and almost died from the wolves, got Luffy to Ivan, exhausted himself to failure screaming "Hang in there!", and finally sacrificed himself to allow the escapees to leave Impel Down. I'm completely caught up to the latest in both the anime and the manga, and can still very confidently say that no one in One Piece (other than Luffy) places as much importance on the meaning of a friendship as Bon Clay does. Went out like a G.O.A.T.

Yes there will always be pacing problems but One Pace seriously ruins some very good parts in Marineford. Those are worth the pacing stretches. Any other arc I can understand but dont do it for Marineford and post-Marineford.

It's as if bro was never truly able to forgive himself for running away from Magellan the first time. It's so funny seeing the random bit of crazy animation from Shida. My brother and I call out his work like he's pandaman. Cover stories are really a toss up for me, some are more interesting than others. But I guess it wouldn't be bad to do them since it'd be somewhat of a wrap up for Impel Down and is in line with where Oda put the cover chapters.

I've watched this scene for like a hundred times and it still makes me cry🥺. Bon Clay is such an incredible example of great character development. Who EVER would've thought when we first met Bon Clay in Alabasta that he'd become universally seen as one of the greatest characters in the One Piece community.
