yeah basically. you can fix plot-holes with added logic or explain them well, but that's what happens with serial stories lots of time. it's fine, I'm not bothered by it honestly. I think many things can be explained and aren't loopholes, but sometimes, you get them. And that's okay, it doesn't ruin anything for me. It's the fans that can't accept the this truth that all authors know and understand.

Crocodile was so "weak" and had no Haki, because Oda probably didn't plan it back then (clear by Ace's statement and fight against Smoker, back in Alabasta). ((He said in hindsight Crocodile was introduced way too early)-wrong) Warlords were just roughly planned out during the run of the show (SBS, V45; Jump Festa, 2007), but he wanted the SHs to immediately fight a strong enemy when they enter the Grand Line (Color Walk 3; Jump Festa, 2007). Back then it made sense, but of course he could have never guessed how bloated the story becomes. The original ideal run was supposed to be like 5 years (10th anniversary book, 2007; Jump Festa 2002 & 2009, Color Walk 1, 2001) and the 7 Warlords weren't even a thought back then (see above sources). It's nice to see the ideas and points you can come back to, the longer you write (ex. Haki). EDIT: Added sources to definitive vs. speculative sentences.

That's not the best summary of the Medusa story. She was a beautiful priestess of Athena's who Poseidon violated in her temple. Due to her loss of chastity and the desecration of the temple, Athena cursed her to be a monster who turned all who looked upon her to stone. Most interpret Medusa as a victim of the Gods' ego. It's possible when you know the actual Medusa story that Oda cooked even more than you previously thought!

The “qualities of a conqueror” Luffy has been saying he will be the king of the pirates forever, he may not want to rule, but he wants to conquer the grand line and find the one piece. Also in regards to the one in a million is likely a figure of speech denoting rarity, though if you were to work out who has it and who doesn’t, based on the number of characters in the show it probably fits. And in terms of Luffy using it when Kuma was sending his crew, strong people can withstand it as we saw with Boa and her Sisters, so even if he had their two main opponents, Kuma and Kizaru would not have dropped.

Yeah the 1 in a million thing might not seem realistic when you first hear it but it helps to remember that we as watchers see the 1 in a million characters in the show but don't really see the rest of the 999 999 non Conqueror's Haki users which makes it seem like they're more common than they actually are. Also, gotta remember that the One Piece world is huge and the focus of the story is mainly in or near the grand line where many of the strongest characters choose to go so I think it's natural that Conqueror's Haki users are more likely to gather there.

conqueror’s haki is kinda the same as people with “D”, at first I thought every second character has this D initial but as the story goes on you realize how rare it is. my rough calculations say that ~2% of all characters introduced in the show have conquerors haki, if you add all the npcs from one piece world then “one in a million” thing makes sense

there's an explanation that no one should give you yet lmao as to why luffy used conquerors haki here, but couldn't back in ep 405, so you'll definitely get an answer someday lol. and when i first watched this, the "one in a million" chance of getting it didn't make much sense to me either but, if you go deep into analyzing how big the one piece world is, knowing 4 people who can use it is not so crazy, some fans did the math and the planet "earth" in this verse is supposed to have a diameter of 3,000,000km💀, not officially stated by oda tho but i can lowkey believe it by some things that have been revealed through out the story. you can make an idea of how larger the population is in this world

The whole "one in a million" thing I think always bothers some people because right off the bat there's two in the same place, but it's just like being a millionaire. Yes it's not common statistically, but if anything powerful people tend to converge to similar places so you're more likely to find them together than perfectly spread apart
