I just recently have been getting my friend who was/is an anime hater to watch anime and we finished watching Frieren as his first anime that he enjoyed. I had a lot of fun rewatching it and its funny that im already rewatching it again with the geks. Its torture going from binging like 5 episodes a night to 1 every couple of days but watching the show slowly helps me appreciate it even more.

Ik some people don’t like it, but seeing them react to frieren really makes me curious how they would react to Mushoku tensei because it has a lot of similar elements to frieren in regards to the world and sense of adventure. Its great but gotta get through some weird moments for sure tho 😭

Guyyysss the skipping of the intro makes me sad. It’s really good. Have you watched it yet? Its track and the one from the second half have become some of my top played songs. Alongside Dandadan s1 and s2 and both JJK s2 intro songs. Its part of the experience from the creators 🥲 The Zenitsu comparison is great, cause Stark is such a better written “coward”. The whole show walks all over Demon Slayer. I enjoy Demon Slayer and especially Ufotable’s animation, but Frieren’s story telling, characterisation, magic system, comedy, pacing (especially for flashbacks)… it’s subtle, complex and deep. I love all the characters, but Frieren is still my fav cause she’s such a thought-provoking enigma. And unintentionally hilarious.

Asking a favorite character in Frieren is as impossible as asking a favorite character in Naruto. Most character are so well written and interesting that it's very difficult to have just one very favorite characte. That's the strenght of an ensemble cast that pulls it's weight. But if I had ot choose one, Himmel is probably my favorite for now.

I think when it comes down to it, it would totally be cool to just go around and collect different spells even if you didn't live for thousands of years, like its such a cool concept that there are all types of spells that people just don't know that can't really be taught to others and handed down like I imagine most of the common spells are, even if a lot of them are kind of useless, just having a spell for every opportunity sounds great. Personally I think it sounds like reason enough to adventure.

To be blunt, cause the show has hinted at it enough and Frieren has out right said it a few times....she collects odd spells because Himmel (and to an extent the others in her party) enjoyed them and Himmel specifically praised her for her variety of odd spells. Now I'm just assuming here but, its probably an attempt at keeping a connecting to Himmel going (even if she maybe doesn't fully recognize it for what it is herself). For now that's the aspect the show seems to want to emphasize anyways.

I love how frieren was originally like "apprentices, no thank you, they'll die in the blink of an eye" but now she has met the two apprentices of her former teammates—that one hundredth really did change her life! there's also something so nostalgic about only getting to know frieren's original adventuring party through flashbacks! so cool that you can still see and learn more about a character even though they died in episode one (aka himmel the himmy)

It's probably the obvious choice but my favourite character is Frieren, it may sound weird but I kinda relate to Frieren a lot, not that I have thousands of years ahead of me but more that I've always been kinda apathetic when it comes to relationships with other people like I always have this thought at the back of my mind of "I don't wanna make friends with someone just to either drift apart or have one of us watch the other die" so I never try to get close to anyone and I hate that about myself and want to change it so yeah Frieren's character kinda hooked me from the start and has actually been a big part of me trying to push myself to interact with others more God that turned into a little bit of a vent session lol
