A few years ago I picked up a semi combat acceptable (you can swing had just don't slam it around) lightsaber and it's actually the coolest thing ever. They're basically all the same between different companies and have the motion controls. I've used it for a fight too and it held up just fine

Impel down is like a 6/10 on pacing. Some parts could be improved but really overall it's not so bad it's no longer enjoyable, the story ramping up faster and faster really just supercedes the minor pacing problems

One Piece really blends the all time lows with all time peaks so perfectly and not saying this is all time low. It's not even close to it. But somehow One Piece (Slow Piece) is forgiven for the pacing and Geks using normal anime in this arc proves it.

I'm with you, Cannon! I really dislike it when characters pick their nose. It’s a rather outdated trope to show someone as crude, unrefined, or a bit stupid. Unfortunately, Oda never seems to let go of these old habits, so I guess we’ll keep seeing them throughout the series. I also find snot pretty gross, though it’s fine in crying scenes or sth like the tear gas scene here. That's kinda realistic. Just not all the time. That said, I actually like Magellan (quirks aside). The moment he locked in, it was basically over! I think you’re also underestimating him. He’s definitely stronger than some Warlords. After all, he’s guarding some of the most dangerous people in the world. I’d say he’s somewhere around Vice Admiral level, maybe even approaching Admiral-tier strength, though not quite there.

Damn, the gifts you’re getting are incredible! I’m not even that into Star Wars, but I still got excited. The orange and purple looked amazing. I’m really impressed by how responsive the lightsaber is, and that AOT blade looked awesome in black. The quality was way higher than I’d expect from merch.

40:33 Luffy at this point is basically an ambitious loyal ant 🐜 who throws tantrums… He only defeated crocodile by himself after previously losing to him. And then it took the whole crew and an army of shadows to help Luffy just about take down Moria. So that’s only two warlords Luffy barely beat. And the further he got into the grand line the harder it got just like Mihawk said when he first met Zoro, the east blue where our journey started was the weakest of the four seas. We are now half way into the grand line so we can see how he measures up to other people - and it gives us an idea as to how much crazier it can get

These specific types of scenes were always used as background gags in the manga, but in the anime they do them sequentially just to fill for time. Impel Down in the manga is 24 chapters, but the anime is 22 episodes, so Toei is already getting real close to stretching 1 chapter to 20 minutes

You guys are hitting the stuff that's drawn out by the anime unnecessarily. It's the reason a lot of people were asking for One Pace. It's not all bad, this section is the worst of it I remember, so hopefully you are on your way away from the worst. I can't believe people are defending cruel and unusual punishment in 2025, that's actually insane. The torture in Impel Down is stuff that should never be done to anyone, even the worst criminals. But they should also keep in mind who the world government deems "criminals". Someone who merely looked at a celestial dragon sideways could end up there. Would they deserve to be tortured? Luffy is not captured in Impel Down, but he and his entire crew would be if the gov caught them. They at least have to recognize that our favorite characters, who are technically some of the worst "criminals" on the planet don't deserve to be tortured. I totally understand why McKay is so focused on that and upset about it.
