Even nowadays women or younger contributors in STEM encounter this type of situations. "Mentors" that take credit and confuse your moral standard... it was triggering!!! But I love the show. It is a great reminder that we cannot take for granted education and research, especially these days when both get defunded or not taken seriously. This anime could revive our curiosity and gratitude for all brave people who fought/are still fighting for all of us to access knowledge.

Kolbe is a bum for using another persons work and especially for not saying anything in advance that being said he did seems genuinely surprised when he noticed she assumed it would have been given in her name. I mean she is his assistant and he wasn’t lying when he was warning her that no one is going to read a woman’s treaty, and god forbid one of her treaties contradicts church dogma she’d be trialed as a witch which means NO SECOND CHANCE she burns immediately that same day. So although I'm sure he shakes his head telling her to keep quite to the old man both because he’s embarrassed of using her treaty as his own but also he knows if this old man happened to be misogonistic he can have her burned for stepping out of line no problem and even if he’s a rat I highly doubt he wants to see his assistant burn to death. This is a VERY dangerous game she's playing. Jack was right at least she learned a lesson and it’s MUCH better to learn this lesson with the likes of Kolbe than literally anyone else in this world. Not having that second chance to recant as a woman is a HUGE deal. She was right when she was walking and said, if only Kolbe was a wicked man…. But he’s not he’s just looking out for me. Is this really the best I can hope for? And…. Then….. our goats arrive.
