There are several ways to justify it. Just off the top of my head I imagine it's very unwise to carry around an item that can nullify two thirds of the the party and make them completely vulnerable. Even if Stark were to carry it ahead of or behind of them they would still be at risk. Carrying around your own cryptonite is dangerous. Secondly, even if they are low on funds at the moment, I think they are confident in their ability to generate new funds. And I feel like a party like Frieren's don't mind doing the odd jobs anyway. Even if they can mitigate the risk, I can picture them opting to leave the crystal simply because it would isolate Stark on their journey, and it wouldn't be enjoyable for them. They're not looking to get rich, they're looking to enjoy their adventure to Ende.

I definitely think Fern and Stark are endgame. I do like that they weren't completely naked when he walked up on them. We see that so much in anime where the guy walks up on the girl(s) bathing and we see more than we need to. This is a great start to the series. I think I saw this will only be 10 episodes long? Kinda bummed. I like longer seasons.

If you like slow burn romance you'll enjoy Apothecary Diaries. The main character is basically Frieren and Fern combined in terms of Frierens personality and Ferns slow burn romance. It's also quite funny and does have mysteries etc it isnt a romance it just has romance in it.

10 eps won't cover or reach 2 of the upcoming fan fav arcs 😔💔.... but I understand they need to buy some time for the authors. The animators added more touches than what was in the manga for this chapter/episode that were really nice, so I trust that the studio knows what they're doing! You can definitely tell the direction is just a little bit different. Previous director and assistant director merely switched roles I think? So it's still the same crew but the previous director said he worked himself to the bone on the first season so he has to take a backseat so he doesn't burn out on this one. So really can't complain. Work culture in Japan is ROUGH. Still holding out that it's a split cour situation though 😭✌️

This episode showed us a lot of emotion we don't usually see from Fern (at least not outwardly), particularly her fears towards certain things, being defenseless for pretty much the first time in her life, afraid Stark might feel uncomfortable in our party and might want to leave for another one, she may have been raised into a stoic person by Frieren but she has very human fears deep down Also her grabbing her bracelet when fearing for her life might be the cutest thing ever, even when literally in the hands of the person who gave it to her she still finds comfort in the bracelet, it really shows how much it means to her... Fark might be ship of the decade... behind Jinshi x Maomao hehe

The stones seem too important to just be for a small side quest, I think they're gonna play an important part later. It's such a big detail, we just found out there are ways to make extremely powerful mages basically powerless. It would be crazy to just move on as if it's not a big deal imo.

Frieren is back!! The intro is so so good hit me right in the feels. From what the story has showed us so far, I feel like Stark and Fern won’t get together until the end of the story. The romance between them is kind of tied to their journey to Ende in a way. Just as Ende represents emotional understanding rather than a true ending, their bond is about learning how to live alongside another person rather than reaching a romantic “destination.” Like love isn’t found at the end of the road, but is created along the way. If that makes sense 😭
