Romance animes can be a good palate cleanser in between watching other stuff. A lot of them tend to be slow burn, but there are some that have action and romance as well. Apothecary Diaries and My Happy Marriage are good because it is romance, but they also has action and mystery elements to them. Your Lie in April is also a good one. It's pure romance and 1 season. The date wirh Fark was cute. They have a long way to go before anything significant happens between them.

If looking for a decent romance, there's an excellent romcom airing this season called 'You and I are Polar Opposites'. Seems to be avoiding a lot of the pitfalls of the genre and has a great cast. Think it will be a complete adaption too.

Am I the only one that wished the whole episode was based around the date? This random villain every episode and frieren aurafarming is getting kinda played out

What this episode told me about Fark... is that it is end game stuff 🥲 We'll get moments here and there but I think they'll realize they need to act on it near the end of the journey or right after and it will mirror Frieren and Himmel, but because they're humans and have that fight and sense of urgency, they'll make their moves before it's too late. Or Frieren helps in some profound way that ties up her storyline nicely. And then hopefully we'll never have to see Frieren attend Stark or Fern's funeral because I would never recover from that.

Recommend for channel - Your lie in april: Music school setting, emotionally heavy, med/high romance (22 episodes). Recommend for channel - Tsurezure children: hilarious romance heavy comedy. super fast paced (12 minute episodes) and will quickly introduce you to more romance anime tropes. School slice of life, multiple main characters. (12 episodes). probs not for channel -Monthly girls nozaki kun: hilarious satire on shoujo romance -- better experienced when you have more knowledge of anime romance tropes. School slice of life with a twist (12 episodes). Probs not for channel -Apothecary diaries: Good show, but the manga does the romance better than the anime. I would watch it for the plot and the additional romance is nice (48 episodes still ongoing). Recommend for channel -Kaguya sama: Good for beginners, easy to get into. Slice of life school romance (kinda tropey). Not my favorite but is solid. (38 episodes). Recommend for channel -ReLife -I want to eat your pancreas (movie) There's more but honestly romance in anime has a distinct 'culture' (eg. dandadan). Not rlly easy to get into as a beginner. If you guys are branching I really recommend comedy anime. There are some MAJOR golden gems

Seeing all the comments saying to watch Apothecary Diaries makes me so happy cause it gives me hope it may actually happen, I think it'd be good especially considering Carter's worries about romance anime cause the mystery and drama is so good that romantic moments kind of catch you off guard Icl I kind of agree with Frieren that anything can be a date as long as it's just two people of romantic interest hanging out with each other, I could lay on the couch scrolling Tik Tok for hours with someone I'm interested in and I'd consider it a date, ig the process of planning it is what makes a date a date though I've never doubted Frieren's power before but that fight at the end kind of has me worrying if they're gonna be okay in the Northern Plateau

I giggled like an idiot when Fark shared that giggle ngl. I love that Fern is basically telling him she wants more of HIM and not what he thinks he should be. Because he only followed Frieren's directions, Fern was disappointed in the date. The only real authentic moment they shared was when they pointed out shapes in the clouds, something Stark did in his own time. Was yelling at stark to GET HIS HEAD IN THE GAME 😭

If looking for suggestions for a future poll, I would agree with others that Apothecary Diaries is a banger although I wouldn't necessarily call it a "romance" anime. It certainly has romance elements though. A couple of my favourite ones are: - Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf - one of the few good romance anime not set in a school - Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai - title is probably off-putting for you guys but I assure you it's very good and is likely not what you are expecting from the title. Has a bit of a supernatural element to it. There's a number of other good ones but I think these 3 are probably good bets for it doing well on the channel AND for you guys potentially enjoying them. There are plenty of other bangers but a lol of them are probably too slow paced. Also, I might be one of the only people on the planet who thinks Kaguya-sama: Love is War is just not an enjoyable show so I vote against that suggestion. End of essay.

If you guys are interested in romance anime, maybe check out Ah My Goddess. it's a little older but it's got romance, slice of life and magic. some good action once in a while too. It has a little harem in it but everyone knows the main couple.

this is a adventure anime with romance on the side and i think that its funnier and more realistic that stark kinda flubed and not to mention when stark eventually calls fern cute or pretty it'll hit way harder

So I'm basing this off of Carter saying once they are a bit older and all that I believe fern and stark are a bit older then y'all might think they are currently timeline wise both stark and fern are 18 years old with stark I believe approaching 19 so they are still definitely young I just don't think they are as young as y'all believe the big thing is like most of the other comments said they haven't really been raised around other people there own age fern was raised by a priest and stark was raised by a at least 300 year old dwarf and they are now both traveling with a thousand year old elf so the interaction between the 2 kinda makes sense

I was expecting the date to go a little better the fumbles had me cringing a bit, but i do get that they both had very traumatic childhoods so thinking about typical teenage things are not on their minds at all. Fern was raised to just think about magic and Stark was raised to think about being a warrior, he's now just realising that Fern is cute lol. Like you guys said this is the definition of a slow burn but at least they've made more progress than Himmel and Frieren 😭

I felt like your guys reaction to this episode was such a let down. Stark has never been on a date before, on top of being oblivious to a lot of social cues as well. Also, you guys fail to ground yourself to this world. They don't have unlimited supply of mana or stamina to always be fighting monsters. And Frieren's final attack is not sus at all, because they are in a party she knew and trusted Fern will react to her attack and protect Stark from the blast.

You guys should watch "Kaguya-sama: Love is War" for a romance anime. I never really liked romance shows, but Love is War is just so good. Imo it's the AOT of romance anime, and it's in my top 5 anime even tho I don't like romance that much. It's just so good, so it would definitely be peak reaction content for a first romance anime.
