Nekochan, this hasn't been confirmed by KaiJu, but it's my theory and I went back as reread in Ch.7 a few things that support it. On page 253, when Sulvain is talking to Vivi, he says, "No one with a beating heart should be that close to Death." Then on page 255 they are talking about those he necromances and Sulvain says, "They can't remain attached to their body for long, unless they possess the gift as well " And in the Ch. 7 extras KaiJu states that, "Only those who possess the gift may live on in their bodies after death." So, my theory is that there are some signs while necromancers are alive that prove that they have the "gift". Sulvain's master must have seen the signs, and took him as an apprentice. Then, they were persecuted for "working for the devil" or some crap, hence why Sulvain was stoned and murdered (and later his master burned like witches were back then). His master must have found his spirit in Death's realm or somehow brought his physical body to Death's realm to immerse him in the River Lethe. That brought his soul and body back together and he is able to reside in his body indefinitely now because he has the "gift" and because he is dead with Lethe's waters in him.... unless he chooses to rest in the field and pass away completely. So, maybe that's why Luc was deemed "useless" by Hargrave? Maybe he possessed the gift but was still alive, and unable to travel to Death's realm easily or for any length of time???

I'm really not sure. But from my understanding, he must have been chosen by his master because he possesses a "gift" as he put it. Perhaps that's why he was able to stay necromanced (reincarnated) in his body after being murdered. Perhaps that's why he was able to absorb the River Lethe's waters as his "blood" to sustain his body somehow???

or any other human for that matter!! not only would that probably caused his blood-thirst to worsen, but he might have panicked and attacked them on impulse (as it maybe happened with the farmer?). especially since he was looking over sulvain,,, i think raz’ protectiveness got sharpened along with his claws ands fangs 🫣

So far, she seems to be taking everything in stride. I'm sure it's going to be A LOT to process when they all finally get back to safety and rest. And what about Elouan? I assume they used Death's threads and healing balm to fix his wound. I HOPE he went with Ève to find Adeline 's body....and they didn't just let her go alone. I hope Vivi returned her to normal size and Elouan went with her for comfort. 😭 No one should be alone in a moment like that.

Momma Vivi is PISSED!!!! I know Sulvain knows better now but saying that to her after she warned and pleaded and yelled at him not to run off alone.....and here are the consequences of his actions. He doesn't realize that running off alone, while he thought he was protecting his friends, hurt them more. And now they have to look at one of their worst nightmares come true.... Sulvain "mortally" wounded. I can just feel Vivi's hurt and worry oozing out of her in her anger. And poor Sesam and Cyrille. 😭 Sulvain has been alone, working alone for so long, he may not be used to thinking about others, or working as a team. But damn he'd better take their feelings into account now....
