Now that I think about it, van life would be absolutely ideal for someone like Sulvain. He has no bodily functions in the normal sense, so he can still wear the same outfit several days in a row without breaking modern sanitation taboos,l. He doesn't need a bathroom, shower or any water tankage beyond the bear minimum. He can roam around without becoming a smelly hippie.

I’m still puzzling over that memory/fantasy/the wine. Hopefully we get some clearer answer about what that was about… Of COURSE he is at UCLA… a lifelong learner if ever there was one. Guess he made it overseas and out to California. Maybe he is a professor… somehow? Or maybe he works as a researcher, in a lab or library… He must be mad smart with several lifetimes worth of knowledge behind his belt. He does have the course catalog, so I’m curious to see what he’s up to now after all this time. As someone who keeps striving for knowledge/keeping up with the latest discoveries, I assume he’d also keep taking classes at the same time on top of whatever else he is doing to make a living (if he needs to work at all). My grandparents used to love sitting in on classes at their local university. They would audit classes all the time for fun because they loved to learn about all kinds of things. All the students knew and loved them. Since he seems to be living out of a van, I guess he continues to be a nomad of sorts. I’m really curious to learn how all the characters are living now. I agree with another one of these comments- he must need to change his identity now in this new age every couple decades or so, so I’d be curious how he does that, or if he does it himself somehow. Does he still go by the name Sulvain? Sully is kind of cute but it makes me think of Monsters, Inc. lol. On a different note, I love the color palette- very ‘70s! I also like how he wears his pin on a necklace now too. I hope he finds Raziol soon. They can fly on the Concorde, play with their first personal computer, watch the Voyager 1, 2 and Pioneer spacecrafts be launched, go watch Star Wars, go to a Queen concert… so many many possibilities… Also FYI, I just learned that there is an International Day of Sign Languages and it is coming up on Monday, Sept. 23. Cool!

Okay okay okay so many thoughts but chiefly here: I wanna know who Sulvain’s practical reality guy is. Like, whomst is getting him a fake ID so he can enroll in college? How often does he refresh his documents? This is like an every ten years problem! The page is so good. I kinda have this suspicion that Sulvain will have changed less in the last 300 years, which makes him a good re-entry character, and right now he’s sooooo chapter four Sulvain. He really does get hung UP! It’s honestly so sweet. I’m sure he’s had little moments of connection along the way since he’s friendly and easygoing most of the time, but for LOVE love it’s really just Udaya and Raz, isn’t it!!

Ugh, I feel so bad for Sulvain! At least with Udaya, there was some closure with her passing, but he knows Raz is likely out there, just out of reach. That would make it hard to move on if there was some chance of finding him again, but with no concrete way of doing so. 😢 Also, I had a thought—is Sulvain still going as Sulvain in America? Would he anglicize his name all? Sully? 😋😋
