I went back and re-read the whole thing to refresh my memory, and now my major question is: what happened to the cat-woman-monster that turned Raz in the first place, and what if he adopted her at some point? Imagine the look on Sul's face if he walks into wherever Raz is living , and that thing comes pouncing on her cat-dad to welcome him home. Considering he buried her in a pile of burning skeletons on their last encounter, I don't know how she'd feel about him being her new dad. XD

Raziol has clearly been through A LOT, and we've been set up to assume that since the gang all parted ways. Sul was asleep, Vivi and Co went off the magic War, and Raz boarded a ship to parts unknown to figure what had been done to him and how to fix it. Then Sul was asleep for 80-some-odd years, which is a long time for Raz to travel the world and learn and grow. Maybe he ended up in the Americas in time for the various wars that brought us the USA, and has had a front row seat for all the rest of it. Having to watch the horrors this nation is founded on would change anyone profoundly, especially if that person already had a history of being dragged for his skin color and religion. Because Sulvain had already been alive for WAAAAAAAY too long when they met, and had a certain understanding of it complicated nature, so of course Raziol sometimes seemed naive and childish by comparison. Sulvain had just experienced so much more, and I appreciated that subtle difference between the two of them. It was something Sul clearly always found refreshing about Raz, for many reasons. But now, Raz has 300 years of the world's nonsense behind him, so he is just as matured by it as Sul has been for a long time. Raz is still his curious, studious, space-obsessed self, but he has grown out of that childlike nature. I kinda haven't understood why Sul hasn't accounted for this. It reminds me of how in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent's minions couldn't find the princess because they had been looking for a baby for 16 years. 🤣
