I know part of the reason he carried the fragrance pouch is to comfort himself and remind him of Udaya, but I’ve been wondering if part of the reason is that he’s secretly worried he might smell like he’s dead. 🤔 I also wonder if he smells like the field in death’s realm. It wouldn’t be an unpleasant smell, but probably a unique one.

It only just occurred to me how important it is that Sulvain smells good. The concept is doing a lot of wonderful narrative work on bunches of levels, but when you're working with a character *who is literally dead but also incredibly romantic hero* it's pretty critical not to have him smell bad! So going to the smells good direction is perfect and I have always loved it.
