Issue 15 - Setting Boundaries and Saying ‘No’ In this issue, the ropes of the boxing ring can symbolize a type of boundary, to protect what’s inside and keep out the bad or unknown. Since we were children, we were discouraged from saying ‘no’. Our parents and other authority figures expected us to comply unflinchingly. We are taught to help our fellow man, and sometimes we are rewarded for these good deeds and we want to do it again. Being a medical professional, I was indoctrinated and many times required not to say ‘no’ in order to help ailing people. I guess it’s what I signed up for, and is a sacrifice for a ‘normal’ life. Others, over time can take advantage of this generosity while they shirk their responsibility. At times, other colleagues knew that I would take care of the patient or problem. This was fine when I was building a practice, but at this point it is a sign of disrespect. Over time I have felt victimized, and later resentful to the point of burnout, especially during the height of the pandemic. I am now setting boundaries of what I am willing to do or how much to do. It was taking away my time from my family, other hobbies, and away from my self-care. It has created a confident calm. In time, I hope people will see me with more respect and have a higher value for my time. I cannot be worried about if saying ‘no’ may give offense or that I won’t be seen as kind or caring. As I have said before, saying ‘no’ is also saying ‘yes’ to me. Rachel has intimated that she sometimes feels pulled by others to do things for them, give her time or attention, or to act a certain way. I think women have a harder time saying ‘no’ than men do. They are more generous and sensitive to not hurt or disappoint others. I have no solution for this but it should be in our consciousness to not pressure them.

Ok. Several opinions on this one. Lol. No I will say I'm not personally a boxing/fighting fan but take that as you will. I am a fan of the camera, angles and makeup. I do think the camera work was spectacular. Angles great and the color of all spot on for the look. Of course the women were beautiful. As always. But must give perks to Alvin, Sienree and Alana. Not that don't don't pull their weight, they always do, but i think it all really really pulled it together for me on this one.

Great Shoot Nirvana. My favorite photos are of those of Kaylee and Rachel together. Really great job. I was amazed by this photo shoot. Keep on going, keep in the creativity. Results are here 😍😍😍😍
