Issue 16 – Love This is a bittersweet issue for me. It was wonderful imagery and who doesn’t LOVE having that much of Rachel! Alas, we later found out that she is taking a break from the magazine. We must respect her need to recharge and fulfill her needs for all she has done and given to us. If you have love for her you can understand why. Love is something that has to be learned and experienced in order to progress as a social human being. My dog recently had puppies and it is amazing the innate behaviors that animals have. She transforms into a loving and attentive mother and gives exactly what the puppies need. As I have discovered the love potential that is within me. Through this experience, I also discovered the lack of love my parents displayed now that I am on this side. I had some sadness and regret that I didn’t receive what I needed. I also had to learn how to show love and affection in a new and different way because I didn’t have a good example. It is my duty to stop this cycle so my children don’t have the same experience. My personal journey towards self-improvement has also helped me shake away my old self and regrets and love in a new way. Because I have forgiven myself and added some self-love and positivity, I am able to give more love to others. I must not allow external forces to weigh me down or affect me because I can become distant or aloof so I can work these issues out in my head. Women do not forget or easily forgive at times so it will be process/habit to achieve but she sees that I am trying. Another recent anecdote about love I would like to share. My accountant and her husband were married for 50 years and working together for the last 40. He was diagnosed with lung cancer 14 years ago, going on and off chemotherapy treatments. They had a love affair that did not slow down or waiver during this difficult time. She would often ask for my medical opinion regarding his care and diagnosis. When he finally passed last week, she pulled me aside at the funeral. She confessed to me that she knew he was ready to die. He was in home hospice and was starving for air for weeks and was in heart failure. She said she may have given 1 or 10mg of morphine at a time. She felt she had to admit that she assisted his death. I told her what she did was very human and she did it out of love for him. I felt like I was her outlet for confession and was very moved by it.
