Malevolent Planet 2D - Nurse Shift Animations & Art TIme!
🕑 Added 2022-10-07 11:13:22 +0000 UTCHey! I hope your week has gone well. This post is a follow-up of the one I created at the beginning of the week. Back then, this area wasn't playable in any way. No content, no characters, no dialogues, just a blank slate.
Today, there are around 15 NPCs that will have their own exclusive content of both SFW and NSFW nature. More than that, you can actually finish the shift from beginning to end without gamebreaking bugs (as far as I can tell) and your performance (based on feedback from patients) is actually recorded and is used to output different content.
Essentially, everything non-art related seems to be in place so the only thing left is to finish the drawings, animate them, write small dialogues content that advances those animations and then this update will most likely be ready for release.
Here are some bulletpoints of what I've been doing, but because I've been working so much there's a lot of stuff I didn't mention.
- Figured out a way to have dynamic/simulated physics in animations, leading to better, faster, and nicer looking results than animating the physics manually.
- Wrote 10-15 dialogues, one for each patient that'll show up on your first Nurse shift.
- Setup the medical room with logical points, sequenced logic and other things that make the whole thing playable.
That's a very raw summary. What I'm going to do next is:
- Draw & Animate all the scenes planned so far for this update. Some of the scenes are already drawn, some are partially drawn.
- Add the newly figured out dynamic/simulated physics to animations already available in the game.
All in all, it means that the first nurse shift should bring us about 5 new drawings/animations. There are more things to do than just these for art, but they're the priority.
You may notice that all the character sprites for the generic patient NPCs have the "Alberto" sprite :D That's because I need to draw new chibis for the generic NPCs.
Thank you for your attention. Have a great weekend!
