Finally got a good look at all the art you guys uploaded, and wonderful stuff so far! A question I had, and I've seen others around the internet have as well, but can we expect a slower burn on the corruption in this game as opposed to your previous work? For me personally, I find it detaches me from the experience and narrative when things tend to devolve quickly into just pure corruption after a few scenes down a particular path. I think it's that middle ground between a character being somewhat normal and pure, and them being a complete slut where they have those moral conflicts internally and externally where the magic happens for me. A good example of a game creator I think always misses that mark despite their amazing art and detail is, OneOne1. They seem to have these binaries, where a character is pure in the story, but via one dialogue option on an NPC with a heart above their head, will engage in full sex with a stranger for money. Then repeat that same sex scene and after hitting a certain value, the character is now a complete slut and locked into the slut path. I just think it misses that internal struggle, and slow corruption that for me personally, is the hottest part of these games.

The way these posts works is that our community manager takes all the images and videos that we post internally and puts them into this bi-weekly post. Thus, quite often the things you see in these posts are unfinished, as is the case here. When you develop things, they often look horrible at first, as it looking good is not always the immediate concern. For example in order to make the flowers move at all, I had to give them bones in blender and test around with a hair simulation plugin in unity. The last gif of the flowers is showing me testing what it looks like when the hair simulation is receiving a strong wind force that is attached to Zoey. It looks pretty terrible but the general idea of Zoey influencing the flowers when walking by was new internally at the time, which is what I was talking about when posting this gif internally. You can see a much more finalized version here: https://imgur.com/5dqh0jW As for your question about why we are "obsessing" about these "weird" flowers: I believe that it is really important for us to make this game more than a quick-fap throwaway porn game. I want us to express ourselves artistically and make something that goes past the stereotypes you'd expect from adult entertainment. Such as RPG-Maker visuals. Thats why I spent about 8 hours on these flowers. In the hundreds of hours we spent on TC:NN already, it's not even a drop in the bucket. I believe it serves as a small visual indicator of this game being a labor of love. You mentioned the exterior holograms, and I strongly disagree with your view here. They indeed may not show their full effectiveness, but in our vision of a cyberpunk city, they play an important role in painting the picture of a society consumed by things like ads. Beyond that, having the holograms not work as well in the daytime will serve as a nice strong contrast to the nighttime scene, in which we can potentially use them to light up much of the area in different ways.

Hey so, why are you guys obsessing over those weird flowers? I think that while what you are doing seems technically brilliant ...visiually, I honestly preferred the very first iteration with those stemmed flowers... These ones look too symmetrical... maybe varying the sizes a bit or playing with the tilt and orientation or something could help? Idk, I trust your judgement but I don't see where this is going. Also...I know it's called Neon city but do we have to have neon lights and holograms outside in the daytime? Considering how ineffective they are in the daytime IRL, it doesn't make sense to me. Plus, it's messing up the values of your daytime cityscapes... Sorry to be a negative Nancy, but you guys are doing some really good work. These are just some things that stood out to me, hope they help you or trigger better ideas or something. Thanks
