i'm gonna post a whole bunch of the illos and stuff here, so you can get a bit of insight! i learned so so much during this process, the main thing being that now i get why they hire an illustrator for the book and then someone ELSE does the designing because doing both is SO. MUCH. WORK. OH MY GOD. but hey! now i've designed a book! so i have that skill in my pocket. i googled so many things y'all.
quick pro tip: if you are designing a book that you wanna have published to kindle, but trying to format it for MOBI is driving you mad cause it keeps fcking up your beautifully made PDF, download kindle create from kdp!! and you can upload your PDF to it, and it instantly makes it into a .kpf (kindle publishable file) that maintains all of your beautiful formatting and fonts and everything. saved my LIFE
