so after i've finished coloring, i'll see what areas the red lineart still works for, and whatever areas don't quite work, i'll usually go in with a slightly darker color than the fill color! like i usually keep the red lines for skintones, but around the face, i darken them to add contrast and help the face stand out from the hair a bit more. sometimes i'll match the colors, but i usually go in with a slightly darker tone. it really all depends, i play a lot of it by ear!

I’m always so curious about this - do you have a method on choosing the color of your outlines? Like is it just a darker version of the fill/making a universal color? I’ve thought about setting my own outlines to multiply and filling underneath so it’s consistent but changes with the color but I’m curious what your process is
